Chasing down fuel issue on the Taurus. Might just be a weak fuel pump..

Yes everything looks like starving for gas though FPDC goes up to the max, indicating the pump is weak. You'll be back up to triple digit speed in no time.

I might need to find a new shop. They are looking at me sideways because they "just changed the fuel filter." I described to them the problem.. they advised me to "run 93 octane gas to clear up a possible restriction."

They didn't want to change the pump. They also didn't want to install the new Motorcraft filter. (Which I did purchase.. see above paragraph.)

That's the latest... wish I had more of an update, but, .

I am pushing the issue with them because we all know it is a fuel pump.

They can change it relatively easily. They have a lift.

Update: The fuel pump has been replaced. The fuel filter is also a Motorcraft as well, and is new.

Car runs 100%, just like every other car I've had a fuel pump replaced on that had a fuel issue..

I have the old fuel filter to cut open, if I can figure out how (will buy a hacksaw ans let the shavings fall away from filter. Oil filter cutter won't get it.)
