I was looking at oil the other day and noticed that PP was about 2 bucks cheaper than M1. My question is if you had to choose either oil for a 6 month fill with around 3-4000 miles which would you choose?

Mobil1 based on it's established record. However Johnny has assured everyone that the PP is an outstanding oil.For a 3-4K OCI it probably won't matter.

I plan on running PP in an 05 Accord out to 10k miles. I've been running 10k mile drains on M1 since I've had it. No testing, but I'm sure it's fine. However, the PP is about 7$ cheaper.

Ginger, or Mary Ann? Either are better than conventional Mrs. Howell, but, Mrs. Howell can get the job done just fine. Personally, I use Pennzoil Platinum...mostly because it is 2.08 per quart on sale at Pep Boys...that's getting down to conventional prices!

I've used M1 before and other than the noise issue (YES it made my engine noisier for the skeptics out there

) I had no issues. I've yet to use PP but if it were 2 bucks a qt cheaper then that is a no brainer. I trust Johnny, and if he says it's an excellent oil then who am I to argue?

Mobil One was noisier in my engines, too. I don't think that means it didn't protect as well, but, it is disconcerting nonetheless. PP is a quiet-running oil in comparison, just like GC.

Excellent post...

I too would go with the PP if it's cheaper than M1, and vice-versa... It won't make a difference at that OCI...

There you have it folks, the cat's out of the bag. Looks like Mobil 1 will be getting it's orange bottle any time now.
