99 honda fourtrax 300. New to Me since June. I dropped the oil shortly after buying it and installed a k&n 113 oil filter. (The 112 and 113 both fit, and hi Flo makes an identical filter. Old oil looked pretty good and so did old filter. Unknown service history and wet clutch so did a short interval.

Got engine hot, oil temp was 172 degrees. Oil filter was very clean.
Out rotella 15w40 T5 synthetic blend w/ jaso MA/ma2 rating.

In, the same. Bought a Honda filter this time around at a local power sports dealer. $5.99 IIRC. Comes with no o rings of course!

Also, the rotella T5 synthetic blend has worked great! Took some work to get the clutch plates not sticking and readjusted. Clutch was pretty far out of adjustment. No slipping, fairly smooth shifting etc. Will need to figure out winter oil as I own a snow plow for this one.

I changed out the Amsoil Synthetic Small Engine oil 10w30 in my buddy’s Honda eu3000i and refilled it with the same. The oil likely has upwards of 150 hours while building our house and starting another one. Oil didn’t look too bad. Changed the spark plug and cleaned the spark arrestor at the same time …

2003 Honda rancher ES. Out Rotella T4 15w40, in same. Very short interval of 5 hours. Questionable service history. Now I'm no longer concerned with sludge or other things. I didn't want to flush the engine with ATF due to the wet clutch assembly. Not going to mess with that so short intervals was the best choice. When I bought it, oil looked pretty rough and the oil filter pleats were weak.

Now I can run it 6 months comfortably or something like that depending on temperatures.

What's your preference for an oil filter for your J.D. or other brands with the Briggs and Stratton engine ? The AM125424(c) has been used for most of the time for the 12 year old J.D.130 ( B&S 22 H.P. V-Twin ) @ 640.7 hours . Will be changing the oil and filter next month or October . Thinking of getting PENNZOIL Ultra Platinum 10w-30 . Running the P.U.P. 5w30 with AM125424c this mowing season .

Either the OEM Briggs filter, Napa 7035 or any Napa/Fram 3614 equivalent

ZT Gravely with Kawabunga twin.

Same Kawa filter off and in

Out: Amsoil 10W-30 SEO, that oil was beat near an inch of it's life. 1.5+ seasons.
In: Amsoil 10W-50 Dirt Bike Oil because paranoid delusional BITOG dreams told me even 10W-40 SEO would be weak and puny

Yep she much more smove and can you say less rackety.

Well if that don’t work out HPL has a killer SEO10w40 for you 😆. In all honesty I would think the Amsoil SEO10W40 would be a good fit.

I've been running a Fram TG3614 and 15w-40 RT6 in the D140. Same engine as yours, just a larger deck.

2 years ago we bought a 2023 Valor 31T13 toy hauler and it came with a Cummins Onan 4000QG generator. The dealer said it was ready to go ... so I put 20 hours on it. When I checked the oil via the dipstick it looked ok. Looking at the oil in the pan in the sunlight it looks a bit lot sparkly. I put in the 10w40 MC oil as I have a lot and I will change it out after our first trip out next spring.

Are you sure that meets the mfg'er requirements? I would have suspected a HDEO.

The tag attached to the genset says 10w30. It does not say HDEO or otherwise. The oil I put into it will only be there over the winter and then for 7-10 hours next spring.
---Just checked the Cummins Onan site and they say to use 10w30 SN or later energy conserving oil.---

Your oil choice is awesome for that generator engine. My only worry might be on the cold end.
