99 honda fourtrax 300. New to Me since June. I dropped the oil shortly after buying it and installed a k&n 113 oil filter. (The 112 and 113 both fit, and hi Flo makes an identical filter. Old oil looked pretty good and so did old filter. Unknown service history and wet clutch so did a short interval.

Got engine hot, oil temp was 172 degrees. Oil filter was very clean.
Out rotella 15w40 T5 synthetic blend w/ jaso MA/ma2 rating.

In, the same. Bought a Honda filter this time around at a local power sports dealer. $5.99 IIRC. Comes with no o rings of course!

Also, the rotella T5 synthetic blend has worked great! Took some work to get the clutch plates not sticking and readjusted. Clutch was pretty far out of adjustment. No slipping, fairly smooth shifting etc. Will need to figure out winter oil as I own a snow plow for this one.

I changed out the Amsoil Synthetic Small Engine oil 10w30 in my buddy’s Honda eu3000i and refilled it with the same. The oil likely has upwards of 150 hours while building our house and starting another one. Oil didn’t look too bad. Changed the spark plug and cleaned the spark arrestor at the same time …
