The 3 front Toro's (the last SR4 is my personal mower). All were free curb pick ups. Mostly carb tune ups and busted belts / cables. 2 fwd models, 1 older SR4 with a B&S external oil filter. Kinda cool machine.

20 year old Briggs and Stratton push mower:
Out - STP SAE 30
In - Time to empty some leftover quarts of oil in my garage. What's on hand? It ended up being about a 50/50 mix of leftover STP SAE 30 and Pennzoil 5w-30. Will add Pennzoil 5w-30 as needed until winter.
15 year old Murray riding mower, with Briggs and Stratton engine:
Out: STP SAE 30
In: Valvoline Premium Blue 15w-40 I had enough leftover oil from the oil change yesterday on my Benz to to bring it exactly to the full line. I love it when a plan comes together!
This is exactly how I do it. I have an old quart bottle that I drain all of my car oil changes into. Once that hits the right level, the mower gets and oil change. Generally it's a mix of Valvoline High Mileage and Valvoline full synthetic.
Changed the original fill in my Briggs 13.5 hp in a 38" Murray. Don't laugh, it is great in my small yard with obstacles.
Put in 1.5 qts Valvoline Maxlife 10w-30 Full Syn that I have had forever. This engine has no filter. SN rated Very low NOACK of 6 or so IIRC
Mower used no oil during break in. Oil came out greenish gray. Very full of break in stuff.
Honda HRX217 with 190cc engine
Out : M1 5W30
In : Castrol Magnatec 5W30
*While I have no issues with M1 5W30 , I thought I would try the Castrol Magnatec 5W30 - if it "clings" to metal parts in a vehicle engine - then it should do the same in a lawn mower engine .
Craftsman 22" high wheel mower - 6.75HP Tecumseh
Out: oil that smelled strongly of fuel (replaced needle and seat in the carb for customer)
In: Napa synthetic 10w30
X320 john Deere 22 hp Kawasaki engine. Just the filter this time because the oil is only 10 hours old, but the filter 3 years old. Fram XG 3600 plus half a quart of 20W50 castrol MC.
Two Hi-Run 16 x 6.5 x 8 tires on wheels on the front. It's easier than changing out the tires and tubes, and about the same price.
63 hours in 7 years.
Toro super recycler B$S engine., 10 hours first change
Out Toro brand 30 wt
In M1 HM 10/30
Love the mower easy to start, cuts good and easy to use personal pace.
The buts...hate flipping to change oil and the gasoline overfill going into air filter.
