Post your latest oil change

Yes, a little bit. It wasn’t concerning though
Some twisting occurs when tightening or loosening the cap. Doesn't matter if not ripping the filter and almost unavoidable. Some aftermarket filters are a hair too long for German engines so show a little bending of the folds. This has proven to be a problem, especially with K&N being too long and collapsing the folds on themselves.

Thanks for sharing that. I think the Baldwin filter I put in was a smidge longer than the Hengst filter I also had available. I'll keep an eye out for that...

2021 BMW 530e PHEV. Just finished up 4600 miles of driving in a week, mostly highway, some spirited driving through the canyons, rest of the 4000 miles on the oil commuting to work, about 8600 total.

Out - ESP 5W-30, MANN filter (which looked basically brand new)
In - exact same, see no reason to change.

It is tuned with the engine making 290-300bhp rather than the original 184hp, so I'll be interested to see fuel dilution numbers and how the oil held up under the extra stress. 116k total miles on the car now.

If you hear any undesirable clatter, I can assure you that the SS 5W30 will be more pleasant. Going into winter, this is a good combo. Did the flush bring out any nasty 🤢 gooey stuff, grit, etc?

No clatter, sounds good from the short bit that I ran it after changing it. Went with 0W-30 because I want that for winter and this doesn’t see enough miles for me to know if I will be changing it before then.

And yes the flush did bring out some nasty stuff. See here for the filter cut:
