This is what the magnetic drain plug looks like after 3000 miles in my Tacoma V6 at the last oil change. Engine has about 55K miles on it. Uses zero oil. Half of the debris is cleaned off to show the difference. Pretty minimal ferrous debris. On the 2nd oil change (put this magnetic plug in on OCI #1) with 5000 miles on the oil, that top layer was about 1.5 mm thick from the continued break-in wear after OCI #1.
