Post your latest oil change

A couple of oldies that haven’t left the yard in 20 years;

In; Walmart SAE 40, I bought a pail on clearance for $10 five years ago. TG5 filter.

1986 GMC 1500 with a rebuilt 307, 9.7:1, 208/214 hyd ft @ 108LSA, 1.94/1.6 valve 305 heads, 1.6/1.5 rockers.

1995 Cadillac Seville with 71k on the clock. ~3,800 miles on this round, OLM indicated 39% remaining.

Out: ST HM 10W30 and 1 quart of HPL EC30 (added mid-run, approx. 2k miles w/ EC in the sump). After draining the sump, I decided to leave the XG3506 in place (after removing and draining) for another run as there was zero indication of any sludging or excess gunk. The EC30 may have been unnecessary, but I received the car with filthy oil so might as well play it safe.

In: 6.5 quarts of Castrol Euro 5w40. I'm interested to see if the engine sounds any different with this choice, although I'm quite sure the Northstar will be happy.

Obligatory pictures:

Unknown OCI or oil, 134k on car. My girlfriend's car and my first change on it. She always used Valvoline or Pennzoil quick change places previously.
Out: Unknown oil, service pro m4476

99 GS400 with 416,774mi & 4,911mi on the oil.

Out: PUP 5W30 Euro & Fram XG3600 filter
In: 5qt Valvoline Extended Performance & .5qt VRP 5w30 & Fram Titanium filter.

I wanted all VRP but wasn't paying attention at the store & didn't notice I picked up the EP until I was ready to pour in the new oil. Oh well, next time. 😂. Titanium filter was $2.50 at AAP the other month, was able to score 2 for my car & 2 for my gf's car

Cool car. Had it long?

1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, 56,002 mi.
Out: Unknown oil, Mobil1 M-203 filter
In: 1 qt. Phillips 66 Trop-Artic 10w-40 (SG), 1 qt. Kendall GT-1 10w-30, (SL), 1 qt. Valvoline Maxlife HM 10w-40, 1 qt. Valvoline 10w-30, 1 qt. Valvoline VR1 20w-50, not pictured .5 qts Mystik JT-8 SAE 30 from the mid-1990’s. Champion-branded 41060T oil filter.

First oil change after inheriting this car from my dad. It is a 56K original car and has never had the engine apart further than the valve covers. I realize this is mixing a lot of oils, but I’m still willing to bet it’s better than the 1963 oils it originally had. I will do 1K OCIs, since it takes about 1.5 to 2 years to put on that many miles. The Phillips 66, Kendall, Mystik, and white bottle Valvoline were from my dad’s stash. Actually, the Phillips was part of my grandfather’s stash, inherited by my dad in 2007. Valvoline Maxlife was a $1.20 clearance score at O’Reilly, and the VR1 was a $1 swap meet find. Oil filter was a $1 discount store find.

2020 Toyota Avalon 3.5 V6, 30,453 mi
Out: unknown (Lexus dealership) oil, had a slight reddish color, unknown oil filter with no visible markings
In: 5 qts. Mobil 1 5w-30, .5 qts. Mobil Full Synthetic, Premium Guard oil filter

First oil change of this car under my ownership. Oil had about 4.1K on it and looked decent. Cartridge style oil filter setup was a bit of a pain. I’m using up my Corolla oil stash, then this car will get Mobil 1 0w-40 Euro.
