Post your latest oil change

I was just on the Chevron site not too long ago as I picked up several gallons of the Delo 400 XSP. Decided to browse other offerings. I had noticed the “synthetic technology” was only used in the descriptions for the synthetic blend oils.

Here’s a link:

Mother in law has had her 1.5t CRV for a year and finally got the maintenance light for oil at 3500mi. Since she’s a short tripper I gave her M1 5w-30 and a new filter, will probably do this once a year

I don't know if you're aware of the fuel dilution issues with this engine. If she's driving 3500 mi per year then once a year oil changes should be okay. You still might want to consider 2x/year to evacuate the fuel accumulation more frequently. But I suppose you should first get an oil analysis to confirm the issue is present in your particular vehicle.

Just changed the oil on the wife’s 2021 Subaru Ascent. 5k intervals make it easy to remember. Pennzoil rebate already in my email. Old fill was Mobil 1 afe 0w30 and Subaru filter. Wanted 0w30 but hard to find it in the local Wallyworld in Pennzoil, and I try to escape the store before night of the living dead occurs.

You got your rebate back already?

Yeah I should clarify, I bought the oil last month and I submit the rebate form in the parking lot before I lose the receipt and got the rebate last week. So I’d say about 3 -4 week turn around. Rebate was in the form of visa giftcard. Sorry for the confusion, I bought 2 jugs one for the crv one for the Subaru.

I’m aware of this quite overblown concern with some of the 1.5t and honestly she’s never going to put enough miles on the car to accumulate any meaningful wear from potential dilution. I do use 5w-30 in all 3 of our 1.5t Hondas just because my personal 1.5 sees 15-20k miles a year and is a long term hold vehicle for me so I use 5w-30 and don’t feel like stocking multiple oils at home.

I’m more concerned about the head gaskets in the (2) 1.5T CRVs in the household than anything else, but my wife will likely upsize to a Sienna before the car is out of warranty and MIL will likely retire by the time her car is at 30k

This sounds like a rig that’d outlast me. Filters that are serviceable easily and fluids too. Man - hang on to this truck. After reading this, I want to look for one.

I really like the 17-19 Duramax trucks. They’re kind of the last true to form Duramax’s, in my opinion. They’ve still got the 6 speed Allison. The L5P Duramax has the Denso HP4 injection pump, so you don’t have to worry about the problematic CP4 like the older trucks. The fuel filter is easy to change unlike the LML.
I’m coming up on 7 years of ownership, I bought this truck used with 10k miles in December of 2018. I have no plans of letting it go any time soon.

2021 Kia Seltos 2.0L PFI 63K miles
Out : M1 0W30 ESP / Fram Endurance #9688

First time user of the Valvoline R&P for this vehicle . Initial OCI set for 4,300 miles / 6 months then will adjust slightly if needed . Previously this vehicle got M1 5W30 EP or M1 0W30 ESP for severe duty OCI schedule (city driving) . Now moved to the country where 90% of usage is Highway or Interstate driving . *I’ll be curious just how much cleaning the VR&P does (no oil consumption problems) after previously running a good synthetic M1 oil previously for fairly short OCI’s its whole life.
