Yesterday in my sister's 2017 Toyota Highlander V6:
136,727 miles on vehicle
Out:
Shell Rotella Gas Truck 0W-20/Toyota 04152-YZZA1
In:
Shell Rotella Gas Truck 0W-20+1 quart Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20/Toyota 04152-YZZA1
Interval: 7,614 miles put on in ~4.5 months (last changed 11-27-24)
Gee, I thought I could be the only one who still has a stash of RGT from the 2019 Autozone clearance sale.

2018 BWM M550ix with roughly 17,700 miles.
One year and 1927 miles on oil/filter...clearly could have gone another year, but materials obtained inexpensively on sale, so why not? (Cost was about $49 for oil and filter) Car does have a mild stage 1 tune, so maybe another reason for an early change (570hp at the crank).

10 quarts Pennzoil Euro L 5w-30 LL-04
BMW factory oil filter manufactured by Mahle

Car got a much needed vacuum and wash after.

Done three oil changes today.

In: 5 quarts Castrol GTX High Mileage Synthetic Blend 5W-30

Oil was extremely dirty. I think the guy who sold it to us lied about changing the oil right beforehand.

My 2018 Nissan Rogue, 67,400 miles on the car, 8 months and about 3700 miles on the OCI. I changed it a little early because my wife and I are going on vacation next month and will probably drive maybe 800 miles, give or take a few. I also rotated my tires today and set all 4 tires to 35 psi. When I was done I did a quick wash and interior detail.

Out: Supertech 0W20 FS and Supertech ST6607
In: Valvoline Advanced 0W20 and Carquest Premium 85358

This is the first time I have used Valvoline in my Nissan since I bought the car 5 years ago. Until today I used mostly Warren/Supertech/Kirkland 0W20. The Valvoline CVT fluid I used when I did a CVT drain and fill a few months ago has been working great so I wanted to try the Valvoline 0W20. We drove the car tonight and so far it is running very smooth and quiet.

I read a lot here about how good the CQ Premium filters are so I wanted to try one. It sure looked and felt like a good quality filter to me, a very solid build with no glue errors or other problems seen through the center tube. I plan on running this Valvoline/CQ combo for a year or 5,000 miles, which ever happens first.

Do you find this engine to turn the oil dark quicker than other engines you have had? I’ve had three of these engines (1 Altima and 2 Rogues) and I’ve always felt the oil darkens quickly, regardless of brand. I’ve run Valvoline and Mobil1 in them.

No, not at all. In fact the ST 0W20 I drained out today was still a healthy amber color. My Rogue is a CPO car that I bought from the local Nissan dealer and it was covered under the Nissan CPO Extended Warranty until that expired last month. But while it was under that CPO warranty I had to change the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage. There were a few times that I had to change the oil with less than 3,000 miles on it so I guess it never really had enough time or miles to get dark. This is my first Nissan so I don't have much to compare it to. My wife has a 2014 Rogue and her oil does not get dark either, but we don't drive her car very often, maybe 1,000 miles a year.
