A couple of overdue oil changes on the family cars today. The subaru is mainly interstate miles and the honda is primarily city short trips. Oil looked fine in both, but was in the Honda probably a bit long and I prefer not to go over 10000mi OCI in the Subaru, so I'll try to grab it sooner next time.

2014 Honda Civic Coupe 90643mi 2643mi oci but 3.5 years (whoops)

Female coworkers 2020 VW JETTA

Out: unknown oil and MANN filter

In: some M1 0w40 she brought and MANN filter. I don’t ask questions FYI as I told her this. If wrong oil; it’s not on my hands.

Car has 39k on it, all highway miles too

2016 GMC Acadia 74k (daughter's )

Out - Valvoline EP Synthetic 5w30
In - Mobil-1 EP 10w30
Ran for 3k. Keep OCIs short due to possible timing chain failure rates with the 3.6 engine.

Nearby Oil Change Shop did the labor part for $25. Doctor said I still cannot kneel on my new knee for another 2-3-4 months. He says I may never "like to kneel" on my left leg again.
Supposedly, this is a common occurrence with 72 year-olds like me.

If my own backyard oil change days are in my rear view mirror now, I'll cry like a baby for about six months. That's when I'm scheduled to run out of our case of Kleenex from Costco
That is justification to buy a lift...

2021 Toyota RAV4

OCI: 2 months, 2,400 miles
Out: Dealer fill: GTMO 0W-16 / OEM filter
In: Castrol EDGE 0W-20 / Fram Titanium FS4967
Short OCI, getting ready for cross-country trip.

My first OCI on this vehicle. What a tiny filter. I have room to put one a bit longer on, I want to check and see if something would work.

2010 Ford Crown Vic, 4.6 V8, 136,159 miles on unit, 9500 miles on this interval will be sending off a sample for UOA

Out: HPL 5w40 HDEO (CK4)
In: HPL 5w40 HDEO (CK4)

Filter is a Fram Endurance 3614 which was reused with only 2k miles on it, will be doing a C&P eventually on the old one

Was there proof the glitter was getting through the filter and back into the engine or did the filter do its job?
The oil filter will catch the larger break-in debris, but some will always get through, and that's the "shimmer" in the oil pan that can be seen in the first oil change.
