Post your latest oil change

Why not just pour the whole jug into it and be done with it? What are you doing with 1/5 of a quart.
Nothing. The last 200ml or so in the bottle gets mixed with used oil I pour back in the jug to take for disposal.

The manual calls for 4.8 L, pouring 4.8L brings the oil to the F mark on the dipstick... So that's what I do.

My grandson just left our home in my former Chevy Colorado. I checked his dipstick today. It is 1-1/2 quarts low.

That (2004) 19 year-old Colorado has never been more than a half quart low, UNTIL I gave Philip this truck three years ago. His last oil change (done by me) was one year / 4k ago.... which means his dipstick was last checked one year ago (by me). Philip is all-thumbs. He struggles using screwdrivers and pliers correctly.

Weather-permitting, he's bringing back that Colorado for an oil change this weekend. Philip's mother Sarah runs a similar oil dipstick level check with her 2016 Acadia. That last oil change was 5k ago and I've put two quarts of top-off in it since late May. That dipstick hasn't been lifted either by her.

I'll be doing her OC this weekend also. That's going to test my six month-old new knee replacement. Can't wait!!!:cautious:

I’ve been using Redline SL1 at 60 and 20% olm on my wife’s 19 Pilot which is DI. Hopefully it’s keeping things happy.

Relatives abused 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3 V-6 139,512 miles on somewhat neglected engine.
Approx 6400 miles on old oil.

Out: 5-30 QS high mileage oil. Old cartridge filter.
In: Frankenbrew 3.5 qts QS 5-40, 2 qts M1 0-40, .75 qt Havoline 10-30 Syn. Replacement filter.

It was run out of oil and knocking 15K ago. Runs quiet with oil and is run regularly on the interstate. I am amazed it runs so well.

The engine oil is coming out looking better every time we change it. The first time we changed it after he purchased the vehicle, there was a lot of dirt/carbon chunks in the oil filter housing and bottom of the drain pan.
