My grandson just left our home in my former Chevy Colorado. I checked his dipstick today. It is 1-1/2 quarts low.
That (2004) 19 year-old Colorado has never been more than a half quart low, UNTIL I gave Philip this truck three years ago. His last oil change (done by me) was one year / 4k ago.... which means his dipstick was last checked one year ago (by me). Philip is all-thumbs. He struggles using screwdrivers and pliers correctly.
Weather-permitting, he's bringing back that Colorado for an oil change this weekend. Philip's mother Sarah runs a similar oil dipstick level check with her 2016 Acadia. That last oil change was 5k ago and I've put two quarts of top-off in it since late May. That dipstick hasn't been lifted either by her.
I'll be doing her OC this weekend also. That's going to test my six month-old new knee replacement. Can't wait!!!
