Post your latest oil change

Oil change on my 2010 Passat with the 2.0T TSI. Oil change came a tad early as it was extra maintenance time. I pulled the intake to do a carbon cleaning, new plugs, new alternator pulley, new diverter valve because one of the rubber seals had busted, and I ended up replacing the intake manifold because the one on the car had some bits breaking that made me weary of continued use (**** plastic).

Oil change mileage - 184316
Oil change date - 06/07/2023
Motor oil used - 5L LiquiMoly Leichtlauf 5w40
Oil Filter Used - Wix 57561
Oil out - LiquiMoly Molygen 5w40
Miles on old oil - 5181

1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 - 154,316 miles.

Out- Unknown oil and filter. It's likely the oil hasn't been changed in a very long time. It was nasty.

In- 20w-50 Castrol GTX Classic and a Fram PH8A filter

I'm going to run this for about a 1,000 miles and do another oil change. I might do a couple of short intervals before moving to a 3,000-5,000 mile interval.

Did you just buy it? I had a good experience while using Maxlife 10w40 syn blend, seemed to clean quite well.

04 Expedition 5.4l 198k
Out: PP Euro 0w40 w fl820s filter and 4k miles on both
In: Total Quartz 9000 5w40 5qts, QSFS Euro 5w40 1qt (6qt sump) with Fram Endurance FE2 filter.
Also siphoned the ps pump reservoir and refilled w Maxlife.
Update to this, me being forgetful with new meds I used a Fram. Not remembering when I used a Fram ultra at last oci, it had a start up rattle w last oil change, fast forward Fram endurance makes the same startup rattle for a few seconds. Enter Motorcraft FL820s and quiet as church mouse.

Because the bypass is where Ford intended, on the base.

Don't think the location of the bypass valve effects start-up rattle. What causes start-up rattle on a cold start after the car has been sitting over night is the ADBV allowing oil in the system to drain down and evacuate areas in the oiling system. The bypass valve won't open on a cold start-up unless it's very cold, like deep of winter cold when the oil is very thick.

True either way both Frams were the culprits

2020 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring 2.5L I4

30523 miles, 5000ish on this OCI.

Out: Dealer Bulk Mobil 1 0w20, Mazda MV line filter
In: Dealer bulk Mobil 1 0w20, Mazda MV line filter

I won't set foot back at the dealership after my last pre-paid oil change (~35k miles) unless I have a warranty concern.

Their list of "immediate need" services that they tried to upsell had a couple of ridiculous, if funny (to me anyway) suggestions.

Oil change today in my 2018 Legacy Sport. 47,345 miles on car. 6,033 on oil and filter. It's going in this week for plugs, brake fluid flush and diff fluids. I'm at 60 months so need the 60m/60k service done. Not going to the dealer. Up in the air about the CVT fluid. Need to schedule a balance and rotation at Costco too.

Out: 4.5qts of HPL Premium 0W-20 and Subaru Filter.
In: 5 qts of Mobil 1 0W-20 EP, ~.5 qts of PUP 0W-20 and Subaru Filter.
Didn't want to crack open another 5 qt M1 so I used what I had left of the PUP jug. Lost about .5 qt of the HPL. I only used 5 qts last time and not the full 5.1. This time I went a little over the 5.1 but not much.

Also topped off coolant. It was just below the low line. Brought up to about 75% of full. These subarus sure love to loose their coolant. Replaced engine air filter and cabin air filter. Once I get a chance to head to the gas station, I'll be throwing in a bottle of Amsoil PI. And later this month or next, a bottle of B12. I do the PI every oil change and the B12 once a year.

Found this when I was removing the filter. Any ideas what it is? If was kinda like plastic and brittle.

Out: Shell Rotella T4 15w40, Protec WIX 101 filter, 6 months about 500 miles use (lots of cold starts and short trips, backing the car in and out of the garage during the winter, etc.)

In: Mobil 1 European FS 0w40, Protec WIX 101 filter.

Also gave the dual points a quick clean, checked point dwell, timing and tweaked idle mixture screws, checked power steering and transmission fluid levels.

Changed the oil on the WRX today

3380 miles on this run

Out: Pennzoil Euro 5w30
Off: Full 2OSB006 filter

In: Rotella T6 5w40
On: Fram FE9688

Decided to try the Rotella T6 this go around. I’ve started to notice strange sounds from the engine now that we are seeing higher ambient temps. Nothing “bad” just enough to make me more alert. Hoping it’s nothing

Also rotated the tires as I do with every oil change
