Call it the crazy Bitog in me but I couldnt stand the thought of having a lower TBN oil in my engine, so with only 208 miles on the PP Euro L 5W30, I drained it for
5 quarts Castrol HM 10W30, 3/4 quart Napa 10W30 HM syn, Microgard MSL7502 filter

The PP Euro will be used to start fires and for a squirt can. 👍👍👍

The funny part is most ILSAC oils probably have a similar TBN to the Euro-L.

Euro L is good oil, may reconsider next time

Which oils are known to have a higher TBN? Im considering running HPL next oil change, should I go with the 5W30 no VII?
Why the obsession with TBN, high TBN no longer matters, we don't have enough sulfur in our fuel anymore for higher TBN to be a major deciding factor on an oil. Now what matters is how well the oil was tested for long drains and what the anti-oxidant package is like, Euro L has to be a pretty **** stout oil to meet BMW LL-04.

Something new! I picked up a 2007 Corvette C6 with 57k on it yesterday. I've always dreamed of owning a Vette and never thought it would actually come to be. Anyway, it had about 5k on whatever was in it (5w30) and had about 30% left on the OLM. It was never a track car and I think every prior owner was gentle with it both with performance and in taking care of it. So I hit it with a quick wash/vac and very mild detail. I then did the following to get her started on her new routine. One great thing...when I test drove it, it was raining. I turned on the wipers and the rubber was coming off them. The owner apologized but said he'd never driven it in the rain in the time he owned it. So I popped on some $8 Michelin wipers from Walmart. That's what I love about Vette's...high performance but I can buy everything I need at Wally world, including air filter and wipers!

2007 Corvette C6 LS2
Out: ?? bulk 5w30 or maybe Mobil 1. Not sure. AC oil filter. K&N air filters (stock intake)
In: Mobil 1 EP 5w30, 5.5 quarts, Fram Endurance 10060 filter, Fram Ultra air filters.

I'm now looking to learn how to change the transmission fluid and rear differential fluid.

I can't wait to pile the miles on this old but beautiful Vette!

Pics or it ain't real!
You NEED to start a thread on this car. I've had 4 Vettes. Congrats on your beautiful car. If it had an AC filter, the last service could have been done by a dealer.

2015 Corolla SE, 158K, 4,600 OCI
Out: 4 qts Kirkland 0w20
In: 4+ qts QS Hi Mileage Syn, 0w20; left filter for next time.

My friend got this Corolla after his TSX was totaled in his work's parking lot. I changed the oil right away just to do an internal cleaning. Oil was still a nice amber. I believe this Toyota was serviced regularly. It may have used a little oil....

91 Jeep YJ, 4.0 AX-15 4x4, 281k miles

Out
10w40 Maxlife syn blend, Napa gold filter

In
5 qts Napa 10w30 synthetic
1 qt Napa 15w50 synthetic
Fram tough guard

unknown miles maybe 1000, 18 months or so ago since last OC

also,

4 qts or so of Valvoline Synchomesh MTF

Of note, Maxlife seems to have remedied a blow by situation I was having. A valve was stuck, aand puffing through the valve cover. No longer. Not sure if it had to do with the oil or what, but seems to be running much better with the new oil mix. I have been thinking about mixing a qt of 15w50 for a while. Did cut the filter apart, did observe some crusties. Transmission is shifting nice.

Mom's 2022 Maverick 2.0 AWD.

Out - Havoline High Mileage 5W30

In - Havoline Lifelong 5W30

Off - Wix 51348

On - Motorcraft FL400S

Only reason the HM was in there is, when we changed it last, that was really all I could get. There was no Lifelong to be found, and I had the HM on hand. It meets the Ford spec, so in it went.

5000 miles on this change. Truck is at 8000 miles. Would have stretched it to 10k, but it has been sitting so much the OLM has been complaining. We will try to run this change out to 15K and then go to 5K OCI's like my Ranger.
