2019 Toyota Corolla with 2ZR-FE Engine

—@ 68k miles in the ODO I changed from TGMO 0W-20 with YZZN1 Toyota Filter to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 paired with Fram Ultra XG4386

— Next oil change @ 74k miles (4k interval) I am using BG products EPR engine oil flush to hopefully clean varnish and piston rings and will then refill with Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 which I got on sale for under $19 per 5qt jug. Upgrading to a Fram Ultra XG4967
Pennzoil Platinum will do all that no need for BG other than a fuel system cleaner and upper cylinder lube. PP PUP is very detergent friendly.

Changed the oil in both my Infinity G35s. 06 G35x and 03 G35. RWD car can fit a much larger oil filter so of course I obliged. Both cars filled with HPL Supercar 0w40 for the winter.

You might as well double the interval as that’s a lot of surface area. I do this with a Mazda Tokyo Roku filter vs Subaru Blue which your WIX is only 1/4 bigger. Also less oil pressure fluctuations.

Just remove the 10w30 HM for another 5w HM. Or vise versa. And the Euro 1QT in place of Quaker State .8. You’re getting most of your additive from the Euro for sure.

I know the capacity is 4.5 but just put 5 in they are rough on vehicles so the little extra might be good for it. Thanks to @RyanY for telling me the right capacity from the owners manual. For some reason ProDemand at work said 5.2 quarts with the filter. Don’t know why but it’s been wrong before so was happy to have him check the manual for me. The reason for getting Toyota oil is I get it cheap at work. It’s $2.99 a quart for conventional and $4.99 for synthetic can’t beat that. I’ll use the Toyota oil in anything except my Ford and my truck cause I like to use high mileage preferably in those. And strictly conventional 10W-40 or 20W-50 in the truck.

I did an oil change on the Wife’s 2014 Cruze with the 1.8L ecotec. Also while doing the oil change, I replaced the valve cover gasket that had started leaking oil

Motor oil used - Kirkland Synthetic 5w30 dexos
Oil Filter Used - AC Delco 2257G
Miles on oil - 8718

Curious minds would like to know how did it look under that valve cover?

55K miles/5K miles OCI

Out: Pennzoil Platinum 0w16 / NAPA Gold 1394

Oil level went up just a bit this OCI so I took a sample to send off. First time this has happened. Hopefully it is nothing major. I suspect there is some fuel dilution from the abnormally cold winter weather. Though it doesn’t seem to smell strongly of fuel. Coolant level is spot on too. Not the first time using PP 0w16 but it was the first go with the Napa Gold filter. Not sure if the either has relevance to the issue but it is noteworthy.
