Post your latest oil change

2023 Sonata

Hyundai recommends 0w20/8k mi oci.
Neighbor traded in his Prius for a Tacoma and gifted me 5 jugs of 0w16 M1. So.... I decided to use it. Ill keep you posted. So far, smooth and quiet.

And the VOA or UOA's as compared to others?
I did not run any comparison UOAs and do not have any VOA information. I presume its "better" than the regular FS Honda uses. The regular oil in the black bottle is what the dealer gets in bulk for its service department according to the parts guy.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
3.6 V6
Out: unknown oil, unknown cartridge filter
In: Mobil 1 5w20, Mopar cartridge filter

2013 Kia Optima
2.4 4 cylinder
Out: unknown oil, Napa Proselect 21334 filter
In: Castrol GTX High Mileage 10w40, Napa Gold 1334 filter

2005 Toyota Sienna 257K miles
5K miles on the oil

Out: Valvoline Maxlife 5w30 and Motorcraft filter
In: Castrol GTX High Mileage 5w30 and Fram Extra Guard filter

...the Maxlife did a nice job of getting the excesive oil consumption I was having with Mobil 1 under control. Went from over a quart for 5K to a little less than half a quart.
Would continue with it, but my neighbor was moving and gifted me the Castrol. I think it will be fine.

Did Hyundai fix the engine issues for the '23? After seeing and smelling what came out of the '21 Tucson, I don't think I would go thinner on my vehicles. Maybe bring to WM and exchange the others unless you need them somewhere else.

2 qts of HPL EC30? A little strong but I guess that works, I used 1 qt with 3.75 regular. Since yours takes 8qts anyway.

Have you done the EC30 before? Just watch and change filter early to check it.
Yeah - one would be weak and two a bit stronger … I ran one around 75k but my son tossed the filter (was gonna cut it) …
I might change the filter at 3k …

I don't know if I'm happy, sad, intrigued or scared by what I'm seeing in the filters from the CRV and Forte. It's definitely working at cleaning. I don't know if I want to order another qt or 2 and do more EC30 round's before just using a qt of regular HPL PCMO with whichever oils.

So far so good with these Smartstream engines.
