2006 Harley road king Police bike.
Out : whatever the last owner used.
I decided to try something different than what I usually use. And used 4 qts of Castrol 20/50 full synthetic oil that stated it was for use in Harleys.
The oil filter was a new Harley filter I've had since I wrecked my other Road king.,,

Here’s a UOA for the Castrol Power1 V-Twin 20W-50, if that’s what you used. Looks good for being used for 5K.

Sorry to hear you wrecked your Road King. ☹️

2014 Triumph Tiger 800XC

Miles on Oil: 15,558 - 13,570 = 1,988
Hours on oil: ~50
Out: 3qt Delvac 1300 15w-40 + 1qt Mobil1 V-twin 20w50
In: 1 gal of pre-blend (3.5 qts Mobil 1 15w-50 + 1 qt QS Euro + 1.875 qts Napa SAE 40 + 0.625 qt ASTO 500)
Qts Consumed: 0 qts

Off: Triumph OEM filter (given from PO)
Hours on Filter: ~50
On: MP6607

Nice shifting throughout the life of this blend (it did diminish in quality, still though.) Its very hard to tell the color-condition of the sump oil on this bike through the sight glass. Color seemed pretty dark, so I changed it--It had been a while since the last change.
Miles on Oil: 18,004 - 15,558 = 2,446
Hours on oil: ~ 61
Out: 1 gal of pre-blend (3.5 qts Mobil 1 15w-50 + 1 qt QS Euro + 1.875 qts Napa SAE 40 + 0.625 qt ASTO 500)
In: 1 gal of pre-blend (10/3qt Mobil 1 15w-50 + 5/3qt Bel-Ray EXS 10w-40 + 1qt HPL SAE30 + 2qt QS 5w-40)
Qts Consumed: 0 qts

Off: N/A; round 2
Hours on Filter: ~61
On: N/A; Round 2 for MP6607

Oil came out dark and cola red--yet, when smeared on a paper towel it was quite yellow. I did the change mostly since its been two years, and I didn't want this type of blend to be put through much more time. I aim to use the new oil for 100 hours. Fill was to the upper line on sight glass.

2015 Yamaha FJ-09
9500 mi
Out: 2.9qt Castrol Power 1 4T 10w40, Wix filter
In: 2.9qt Amsoil Metric Motorcycle 10w40, Ecogard X4612 filter

Low miles on the Castrol, I didn’t ride much last year. Hopefully this Ecogard works in this application lol. It’s typically interchangeable for Fram Ultra 6607 which does work for this bike so… sure, seems fine.

my 'new to me' 2019 Suzuki S40 Boulevard (LS650)...one lunger; bought with 1171 miles...up to 1717 miles a few weeks later! changed oil early since I've not finessed some shifts while learning the best up-n-down the ole transmission...

out...yamalube regular 10w-40 from bulk drum & oem suzuki filter (per selling dealer)

in...1:1 ratio of Amsoil 15w-40 synthetic (leftover stash) & Super Tech 10w-40 (5000 mile formula) with HiFlo Filtro HF-137 filter

Good deal on getting the S40 with low miles! Are you saying you changed the oil because you clunked some shifts? I would not let that influence doing an oil change moving forward, not an issue. Less than 600 miles on the oil isn't even letting the oil break in, ha ha.

I still feel a premature oil change was a good idea...not being sure how much it had been test ridden (short jaunts & not getting up to operating temp), when the prior oil change was actually done, etc;

the 'breather' tube that hangs down had about 15cc of a really thin clear & brown tinged fluid that had hint of gasoline odor...don't know if it was ever emptied; another indicator for me that a fresh oil change wouldn't hurt...

I believe the hose you reference is a crankcase breather. Vapor that condenses from inside the bottom end of the engine in that tube is what you are seeing/smelling, no worry it's what it should be. Fresh oil won't change things with respect to the breather doing what the breather does. The selling dealer would know the date the oil change was done if it is a detail you want to be aware of.

2022 Can Am Spyder RT Sea To Sky
1516 miles
Out: OEM 5w40 Partial Syn and OEM oil filter
In: (2) qts Castrol Power 1 10w40 M/C full syn / (2) qts Castrol Power 1 10w50 M/C full syn
/ (1) qt M1 10w40 4T M/C full syn
Factory calls for first oil change at 3K miles. Seeing that I'm heading on a 2500 mile trip in a couple weeks, I changed a bit early.

2021 Honda PCX 157cc scooter
2,723 miles

Out: Castrol Edge 10w-30, 0.8 qt
In: Mobil 1 EP 10w-30, 0.8 qt

Early drain on my scoot with only ~300 miles on the oil because I was excited to get the Gold Plug on! The used Castrol was a golden amber and looked just about new, which didn't surprise me. The Mobil 1 EP that I put in is massive overkill for the short OCIs I plan to run, but it’s kind of fun (and cheap) to put a top tier oil in this little guy for the heck of it.
