Post your latest HDEO change

As mentioned in another post. Did the 3500 today. 147,000km on the clock at 24 and change on the oil. Out was semi synthetic 5w30 DMO and in was semi synthetic (group 2 and 4 base stock) 10w30 DMO. Always like to give a shout out to Canadian energy and resources as this is Canadian oilthat is refined, blended and bottled by a Canadian company right here in Saskatchewan. I also did both fuel filters and greased the cardan.

Oh yes. From Co-op. Good choice.

2000 Mack DM690S
Just shy of 9000 miles but 304 engine hours

Out: Schaeffer 700 15w40, 4 quarts of 132 oil treatment and Mack filters

In: same

Also pulled a UOA that will be posted when I get results
@Creekside you mean 4 gallons right? Remind me what engine is in there? 4 gallons even seems minimal for a heavy duty truck like that.

Just my $0.02

Fodio 20kVA diesel generator with VW Industrial Diesel engine.

Not really an OC but a Filter change on my new Ram 2500. 750 miles and 27 hours on the clock. MO-285 off and FG 16035 on. Had been to the dealer for a recall and when I got home noticed oil on the frame and front axle on the passenger side. Oil also on the bottom of the oil pan around the drain plug. Pulled the dip stick and the oil doesn’t look like they changed it but it was over full on the stick.
?????
Oil was not from the filter leaking. It was completely dry all over.

Changed the oil in my 2012 Ram Cummins today after repacking the wheel bearings on the camper. I love the EZ-grease system but needed to check the bearings after 7 years of running. Things still look good so some Mystik red grease, new seals and on we go.

Out: Mobil Delvac 1300 and Mopar MO-285
In: 3 gallons Mystik JT-8 15w40 and Fleetguard LF16035

Oil had 7,763 miles and 273 hours on it. Truck has 111,958 miles. I changed it before 10k because my drive to work has changed this last year. My drive was cut in half so I go ~10 miles round trip versus ~20 before. I will change again at 120,000 miles and then go 10k after that on the remainder of the Mystik I have if the UOA's look good. I will post this UOA and the MO-285 C&P when they are done.

Just my $0.02

1971 Kaiser M35A2 (7.8L turbocharged inline 6 Multifuel) - 5 Gallons Rotella 15w40 - 2 Fleetguard LF3479 Filters (Mileage Unknown)

2012 Ram 2500 6.7L with 164,902 miles on it.

4865 miles / 151 hours on this oil change.

Out: Two quarts HPL SAE 40EC, Three quarts Rotella T6 5w40, Three quarts Delo 400LE 15w40, Four quarts Rotella T6 15w40 and NG7620.

In: Three gallons Rotella T6 5W40 CJ4 & Fleetguard 16035.

Need to cut open the NG filter still. The first filter a Donaldson P558615 was change around 2k didn't look bad. A few small specs of build-up and couple shiny particles.

Today, best friends 68 foot pushboat, came pull a week for one of his deckhands whos dad is ill.

Mains: two 8V71 Detroits, changed every 250 hrs, they leak/burn a good bit of oil especially when pushing hard. Rotella Straight 40 and Napa filters.

Generators: two 30kw with Isuzu 4LE2 engines, top quality unit, quiet and fuel efficient. We run one for a week then shut it off, crank the other one for a week and service the one we shut down. Besides shutting down for oil and fuel filter changes, they run constantly.

Today I serviced starboard gen, 8 quarts Chevron Ursa 15W40, Napa Gold 1334 and Napa 3393 fuel filter. This boat mainly works in the Intracoastal Canal and Atchafalaya River.

2022 Ram 2500 CTD
2362 miles and 71 hours
Out: what ever they happened to put in it. 10-30 ? 5-40 ? The main reason I changed it.
In: Rotella T6 5-40 and DBL 7349. Planning a long trip end of the month and wanted to change it early.

Was looking at filters at WM and saw this XG 3976a. Fancy glue job.

Changed my mind about the Donaldson and put a Fleetguard LF 16035 instead. I know the DBL 7349 will fit the 6.7 Cummins but in the application list per Donaldson the Ram Cummins 6.7 is not listed.

I’m not arguing that it won’t work but if you scroll down to the application listing the only entry for ISB Cummins is the 5.9 with tier 3 emissions. I know Donaldson makes great products. I have an 84 month 100k B2B warranty on my truck with 2400 miles on it. If I have a problem, I don’t want some bean counter saying I used an oil filter not designed for the engine. There have been others reporting valve train issues and Cummins/FCA starting their juggling act with oil weights as they did with the Ecodiesels. As I said I’m not arguing with anyone just CMA.
I get a warmer fuzzier feeling running the LF 16035.
