53K on Valvoline 75W90 Synthetic. 8800 miles towing ~6000# on a Dana M44 8.8" in the Ranger, in the south, in the summer (mostly)

*yawn* Nothing to see here.

--Edit--

Valvoline Squeeze packs are nice. I kept the empties to refill if I find that they're a lot more expensive than buying a bottle. I'm cheap sometimes, what can I say.

Porsche Classic gear oil in the '99 911 replacing the Mobil put in by our local indy ~5 years ago. I recently installed the 997 shift console, which provides a shorter shift, in both this and the Boxster S but didn't like the feel when cold so I tried the Classic and it made a noticeable improvement. I now use the Classic in the three old P'cars. The transaxles in these are known to be finicky about fluids, especially the 996/986.

What vehicle did you put the Ardbeg in?

What did you think of Redline in the Cayman? I tried Redline in the 996 a while back and removed it after one Summer. It was tough when cold and very 'notchy' when warm. It is a low mileage car and the synchros are fine. I liked the warm feel, but didn't like the feel of almost forcing it into gear cold. I am a Redline fan in other applications though.

wings&wheels , Mine is a higher mileage Cayman (92,000 miles) which had the transmission rebuilt by the PO at around 30,000 miles because it occasionally popped out of second gear. The car has been faultless since. I share your feeling that the Redline (in my case not the "NS" variety) seemed to require a bit of extra effort when cold, a bit more than I'd consider normal. My response would be to shift a bit more carefully and deliberately until it came up to temp, at which point I felt shift quality was fine. That is the reason I have changed over to HPL. BTW, I don't know that I've ever run the car in temps below 50*. We've had a cold and very rainy spring up here, so I only have "around the block" seat time with the HPL, not enough to give you a credible opinion.

P.S. Our highly regarded Porsche "Indy" shop uses and recommends Redline exclusively in Porsche MTs.

I've never heard about an e-transaxle. I'm curious what the difference in fluid properties are?

And is this transaxle that different from a standard transaxle?

Good call on the OEM though.
