Post your latest beer consumption

Revolution Brewing Café Deth, in honor of the founder, Josh Deth. 14.8%. One time purchase, 12oz 4pk price was crazy. Grows on you as the can passes, but reading “imperial stout, aged in bourbon barrels, and steeped with coffee” doesn’t prepare you for the barleywine sweetness on first taste.
Note to self: wait until end of second can to decide additional purchases. Definitely grows on you. Still has barleywine notes, but if you imagine a little of the bourbon sweetness without the proof burn, it’s decent. Price is the only real hurdle; $7.50 retail for a 12oz can is far above what any beer is worth. But it gets the job done!

Blue Moon Belgian White. I’ll say it’s pretty good. This is my first beer with a garnish. So you experts chime in for a beer rookie here do you squeeze the garnish in or leave it? I squeezed some in but can’t tell a difference in the taste. My dad gives it approval says it’s a clean beer he hasn’t tried it before tonight when he took a sip of mine. Even convinced mom to try it and she almost spit it out lol. She doesn’t like any beer she is a daiquiri girl. We are at Smokey Bones and I planned on getting Yuengling but they don’t have that here. It’s very limited draft beer menu it has to be draft for the rib special. Much much needed after a long tiring day at work. Still have yet to be asked for an ID anywhere lol. The beard really makes me look 35 I guess haha.

It's a ok beer with training wheels you just throw garnish in the trash.

Last night with dinner I had a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and tasted my friend's Abita Amber, which was very nice and had a little sweetness to it. I may try some other Abita varieties .... something new.

Just having fun with AM I like Blue Moon for a macro brewed beer.
If you are in a true craft beer establishment.
1 you will never be served a chilled glass
2 it will never come with a garnish
3 you will and should be served in proper glassware.

So a traditional pint glass isn’t proper? Lol. Had no idea it was considered a macro brew. I like learning. I prefer just drinking straight from a bottle or can if it’s not on draft but if they provide a cup I’d probably use it.

Pint glass is ok but that beer should be served in Heff style glass if getting to be a snob lol.

You're missing a big part of the experience if you're not pouring it into a glass. Even with the wrong type of glassware, you'll find that the taste is better after being poured. I myself am guilty of using the wrong glassware for the style of drink quite often, but it's far better than drinking it from a bottle or a can.
When you pour it, it releases the aroma of the beer which enhances the overall flavor. Your sense of taste and smell work together here.
Also, pouring your beer into a glass helps you avoid being bloated by having all of that carbonation trapped in your gut. The head on a beer is what's releasing the aromas, but it's also releasing some of the carbonation that would otherwise be in your stomach.

Cheers! 🍻
