The Defenders will be a big improvement over the OE Primacy.

Holy cow! You are so right! They ride much better - absorbing surface imperfections and concrete slab expansion joints, making them feel like they are not there! I can see them, but I can’t feel them!

And that’s with inflation set at 37 psi cold.

No more overly twitchy steering, with its accompanying side to side rocking. No more need to put the steering into “sport mode” in order to dampen the steering.

And, it tracks with more stability at speed on the interstate.

I can’t express how pleased I am with these Defender2s!

Your wet weather traction will be much better too.

Well, technically I didn't buy new tires or alloys. But, I had my car's 3 season tires (Michelin PSS) and factory alloys RFB'd at a local shop. They charged me $15 a tire. The shop gets 4.9 stars. I tipped the guy $10.

Ouch lol.. The BMW has 3 different dates of tires, the ones on the front almost new. Just changing the back ones but only one really needs changed. Love Duelers on our RV and that’s what it has now. I could buy tires for our other two cars for this lol. Costco is cheaper if you figure in hazard insurance.
Had to rebuy 2 Duelers that were run flats. Costco wouldn't install two regulars with the old run flats, makes sense I didn't think about it. $170 more. Next time the tires should wear down the same so just put regulars then, around 80-90k. Wonder which end wears out the most on X3's.

I've found that AWD BMWs tend to wear very evenly. My old pre-xDrive X5 had the most even tire wear of any vehicle I've ever owned (I measure and write it down twice a year). xDrive cars might wear the rears out a little quicker since they are RWD most of the time and don't engage the front driveshaft very much. I have a 2012 X5 now with xDrive but I have only had it a little under two years, not really enough to have strong opinions about tire wear. But either way the weight distribution on them is fairly well-balanced.

I was thinking the rears also since I’ve already had to change the rear brake pads. It had 3 different date code tires on it and the two oldest was on the rear. I’m really surprised the dealer did that, Carfax showed quite the tale.

Nokian One 235/60R18 on Atomic 18”x8.5” rims for max sidewall without mods on Tesla Model Y. Great combo.

Good deal now on the General Altimax RT45. The original Continental Cross Contact LX Sport (2017 Honda PIlot) were produced in June, 2017. Getting on 9 years old. I've been searching and was strongly considering a SE Asia branded tire, cause I did NOT want a $300 +/- tire. But, it's the wife's car and she nixed that idea, so I changed my search to a Tier 1 or 2 brand at a decent price--one with a decent review, either from Tire Rack or Consumer's Report.

I found Amazon had the Altimax RT45 on sale, 20% off. There is a current rebate as well, on General tires for $140 if using their credit card. In my 20" size, it reduced the tire price to $127.39 each. I could not pass it up. In addition, their balancing does use the Hunter road force machine.

The Altimax RT45 is not a 3 peak mountain snowflake rated tire, but it does have good snow capabilities. Also quiet, and long lasting. At that price, it's within 10% of the SE asian tire prices. It's made in the USA, too.
