Post your last tire/wheel purchase

After having a blowout (rear driver’s side Toyo 2013 mfg date) in Milwaukee on the 894 bypass, I decided to get four new Nexen N’Priz AH5 white walls in 235/75/15. They have the highest load rating of any passenger car white wall tire I looked at, which is why I went with them over Hankook, Cooper, or MileStar. Vehicle: 1985 GMC G2500 van. This was July 28, 2021. On the way home to central Texas, the van did well in nasty storms in Oklahoma. I saw a late model Ram HD truck hydroplane in front of me and flip over into a ditch in the Arbuckle Mountains.

We've had the LX25 on the Q5 for about 4-5 months now. From a noise and hardness perspective, I can't really tell much difference from the OEM Conti CrossContact LX Sport. To me they are quiet and not hard.
Well, Michelin primacy tour A/S are what came on it. Not a bad tire, average noise, crappy snow, but good dry and wet traction. I was hoping the LX would be a step up when tire time comes around, which is pretty soon.

I want to start a riot here so here goes. 3 months ago I took my 19 year old UNWASHED/ WAXED car to get a replacement tire . Being it's got 250k miles on it, and who knows how much longer it will last, I decided not to buy a new tire and go for a used one. I went to a place in town who had a selection of miscellaneous used tires for sale. I followed the guy back to the area where my size tires were stored. I picked out on that had just a bit more tread by eye, then the others I had. Had the guy mount and balance the tire, and trash the old one. It was a Cooper tire same size as the other tires on the car which were Hancook brand. It went on the front driver side. It had a date code of 2015. Now I don't drive as much as I used to these days so it works for me. I couldn't believe the difference on how it rode. As good as a new tire would have in my book. It has raised white letters on the sidewall and if you didn't know the difference, you couldn't tell they don't all match. And the best part of the whole transaction, it only cost $50 for the tire and install. It probably will outlast the life of the car. Sure I could have spent $150 for a new tire, but if the trans went on it a week later, the only deal to be had would have went to the guy who bought the tire from the junkyard.,,

Ah yes, we have dedicated winter wheels/tires for the Q5, so snow capabilities of the Contis aren't much of a concern, other than when we're late swapping them out.

Four Zeetek HP-1000 205/55-16 delivery to my door , under $200. From Tire Streets. To be mounted on the Si soon. Three season use for these. Going to Lime Rock next month, at least that’s the plan.

Got a set of Nokian ONE tires for the Elantra along with brand new Hyundai alloys for it since I absolutely HATE hubcaps and steelies. Haven't gotten them mounted yet but probably will soon.

I absolutely DESPISE Michelin tires, so I can't wait to get these premiers off of it. Will be nice not to slide around anymore. Bald at 21k by the way, not sure why anyone would waste money on tires like these for top dollar. Worn perfectly across the tread, so not like it was an alignment issue or anything like that.

One 480-8 trailer tire and 480/400/8 tube for a wheelbarrow. Load range B, 590lbs @ 60 psi. That's like putting F-rated tires on a Prius.
I did that same setup on my old wheelbarrow 30 years ago, and it's still like new.
Tomorrow I'm putting 15w40 in a turbo Escape.

Set of four Michelin Defender LTX 265/50R20 for the Durango this afternoon. The ride home was smooth and a little quieter then the OE Bridgestone Ecopia HL 422 that had just over 64k on them. They could have went a bit longer, but going into winter wet traction had faded and snow traction would have been lacking. Applied for the Winter Michelin $70 rebate online when I got home as well.

Had 40k miles on these GT radials, they were worn down and getting extremely loud

These are for my commuter Pontiac Vibe that I drive around 30k a year. They are much better than the GT radials the previous owner had installed

Just bought some BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2’s for the Ram. LT265/70r17 (truck came with passenger tires). $239 each at Discount Tire, they get installed Saturday. They also gave me 5% off ($47.80) for creating an account and logging in. $1,064 total including disposal and install.

Just got them installed. So far so good! Opted for the C load range over the E’s. A bit firmer ride at the same 40psi as the old ones but it’s no where near unpleasant.

Black Friday purchase to replace the summer only Pirellis on my 2016 CTS V-Sport...Discount Tire had some nice rebates and offers for a set of Continental DWS-06 Plus tires so I can extend the driving season a bit...I don't intend to drive when there is snow on the ground but it is nice to know I can drive without concern when it is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit...due for install next week...
