Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

2020 Hyundai Elantra IVT (CVT), Enterprise rental while my Soul waits for parts.

By the computer, it’s been between 38 and going up, now at 43 mpg, even higher 46-47 mpg when I’m driving calmly. Very impressive!

I got a decent tank in the Focus, 36mpg, 90% rural driving, but relatively lots of shorter trips. This is with some coasting in N too. Not bad but probably I should check the plugs.

2005 Scion tC 2.4l 4cyl (Camry engine). Used to get up to 28 mpg, now with 180k+ on the odometer I'm lucky to get 24 mpg on a highway drive. Not sure what happened other than age and wear, doesn't even burn much oil (half quart over 5k mile OCI).

BTW this calculation is based off of Trip Odometer divided by Gallons filled. There is not MPG meter on the tC.

The computer is a bit generous . Our '18 Accent is off up 4 m.p.g. over the calculated ( see pictures #127 and #129 in this thread on page 7 ) . Still impressive .

The computer in my Soul is always about 3-4 mpg higher as well. Actual is usually 33-34 mpg. Same 1.6L GDI but with 6sp manual that revs around 3k @ 70 mph. I’m a little surprised the Accent does better than your Honda Fit 😀

2013 Mazda 6
Last trip was ~500 miles with about 2/3rd non-interstate at ~60mph and 1/3rd interstate at ~70mph.
There was low wind overall, so pretty much not a factor.
The dash gauge reads 33.3 mpg average over trip.
The tankful prior to this trip sat for about 3 weeks with a dose of Stabil 360 Ethanol treatment.

2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6DI - 22.7mpg. It is my daily driver to/from work which is 42 miles each way with 38 of those miles highway at 70-75mph.
2016 Ram Limited 4x4 5.7L - 19.1mpg
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 - 21.5mpg with wife having pretty much the same driving conditions as the CTS.

I don't really have a way to measure the short trips other than the car's estimation but I've been daily driving our leased 2019 Sentra. I'll be cutting a check for this once the lease is up. It has been costing me $4.80 a day to drive back and forth to work. The Grand Marquis would be about $10 a day.

Daily driving it to work and back i have been averaging 39MPG hand calculated. According to the computer I get 45 on the way to work and 38 on the way home. I've found that going down US11 to the next town and getting on 81 to finish going to work gets an indicated 45 MPG opposed to 37 if I get on in my town. It's less mileage (.5 mile) so I'm definitely saving fuel doing so. Coming home the route doesn't matter as much.

Driving it out to my parents it'll get 44-46 MPG hand calculated if I stick to the state highways which are rolling hills and a top speed of 55. I believe the computer to be pretty accurate.

I have been doing a lot of trips between our old and new house. If the car has been driven that day, it'll say high 50s. But it can lock the torque converter and keep the engine right at 1100 RPM for the entire drive there and back.

2019 Ram 1500 Classic 4x4
Computer indicated 19.8
Calculated was 18.1mpg, mixed driving, computer always seems 1.5-2mpg optimistic. Not bad considering it’s rated at 15 city/21 highway/17 combined.
