Driving that slow on the highway is pretty crazy though, even at 6am on a Sunday. At one point, some idiot tailgated me and was flashing his lights, even though he had five lanes to choose from! Sheesh buddy!

I knoooow, right?
Makes me want to slam on my brakes to see if the idiot will actually rearend my bumper. I sometimes wish I was a cop and that I could pull over these people that ride my bumper while I am traveling the speed limit. Even when I'm in the far left lane traveling above the legal limit(65 in a 55) and slowly moving ahead of the traffic in the right lane(s), I always seem to have people running up my ***.

I don't need to be traveling @75 mph in a 55 mph speed zone even in the so called "fast lane". The best part of it all is after these idiots pass all traffic, I find them pulled over by the State Trooper, several miles up the hiwy.

For every speeding ticket people are getting in NYS, I hear them saying/complaining that it cost them $400.00-$600.00. Yeah OK so, keep riding my bumper idiot!

I've heard that alot about the Accent's even the manual's. Wonder why they don't get better?

Wow thats great city mileage from your 2.2 ecotec.

My HHR 2.2 eco has a lifetime unit average of 31.4 mpg at just over 26,000 miles. That is from a use pattern that is @ 70% backroads/Hwy at steady 50-70 mph and 30% city driving.

'97 Altima 30 mpg (10% city, 10% country roads, 80 %hwy).

'08 350Z 28.3 mpg!, same driving conditions as above. Me driving, keeping mpgs on mind.

'08 GSX-R 1000 41mpg

'00 Honda CBR 929 45mpg

'06 Altima 2.5 - 25mpg wife driving - 50% city, 50% country roads.

What kinds of speed are you running on the highway in the 350Z? My G35 is very similar and my best tank ever was 24mpg. Although you probably have the newer HR motor with VVEL.

I usually run 82ish and typically get 21-22. 90% highway.

On my last trip with the 2004 Honda Civic EX to Pismo Beach from Fresno with 3 people in the car. 30 Dollar fill up at chevron (@3.75 a gallon)from gas light mark. driving 95% highway @ 55mph-65mph I made ...

46 MPG.

Happy to be a hypermiler

We have had some really HOT temps lately. All the car in our family(myself, wife, daughter) have just gotten the real "flyers"(highest we've ever gotten) on this last tank of gas. We always seem to get at least one or two "fliers" during the summer months. Humidity seem to help.

Wifes '01 RX-300 just got 21mpg city(EPA 18/22) Just came back from Toronto and only got 21 hiwy with lot's of stops.

My '04 Altima 2.5 just got 30 mixed(EPA 23/29) Recently, I've traveled from NY to Balt non-stop and only got ~27+ hiwy.

Daughters '06 Mazda3 just got 36 mixed(EPA 27/34) Normaly 30 city/40+ hiwy. This car gets good MPG all the time. When it drops to under 30 city or only 35 all hiwy, city she gets upset.

But, alot of this has to do with the outside temp/himidity as I have been checking my/our MPG for decades and this is what I have always noticed.

It would be interesting to see what your 07 would get on that same trip!

'08 YARIS base model sedan w/ 4 speed auto .

Eco-Meter : 39.4 m.p.g. overall
Calculated : 40.63 ( 365.6 mis. / 8.997 gals Valero 87 w/10%E )

We keep E.M. at a lower setting , that way we know it's actually getting better gas mileage .

Is the Eco-Meter like the Scangauge? If you can calibrate it, why keep it so much lower? I've been calibrating my Scangauge a little bit with every fill up and I'm aiming to have it read at either exactly the right MPG or perhaps 0.1 to 0.2 lower (but definitely not higher). I wouldn't be happy if it was off by 1 MPG either way though, that's too far off IMO.

last fill up in the del sol on 8/2/11
47.56mpg 501.1 miles 10.535 gallons

last fill up in the yaris 8/16/11
42.91mpg 389.9 miles 9.085 gallons

last fill up in the civic on 7/31/11
31.82mpg 307.3 miles 9.655 gallons

We just got a 30.0 mpg tank on the Tracker. Mostly 55-60 mph highway driving but also some 1st gear crawling around on the farm. The snow tires work great on grass but probably don't help much for mileage.
