Post your current MPG

2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900: 45 mpg, though has been 50-55 on my last 2 fillups because of a 50 mile each way commute

2011 Hyosung GV250: Never below 60 mpg, roughly the same commute I do on the Vulcan, though soon to be replaced by a larger bike

2000 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L/4 speed auto: 25 mpg, has not been filled up in a few weeks due to taking the bike everywhere

1999 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L/3 speed auto: 24 mpg over the last ~1,000 miles, all freeway at 55-60 mph, towing a trailer

Fiero V6 3spd: gets between 22-24mpg in mixed driving. I've never isolated it to highway vs city. It has hit the 25's only a couple times. I've been stuck closer to 22 lately.
There's a few tuning things I'd like to experiment with but I don't have enough of a consistent driving pattern to get useful results.

What kills the highway mileage on this car is the 3 speed transmission. It's simple and reliable but it turns too fast on the highway. People who swap an overdrive trans into it get high 20s, as do the people who have manuals.
Some people have combined that with an updated ECM and reported low 30s.

Took a 40 minute highway trip tonight in the Corvette where I set the cruise control to 63 MPH and managed to get 32.5 MPG!

That's the highest I have seen so far with this car. Not bad for 400hp

Quite impressive. The cruising speed really makes a difference, I'm in the habit of cruising about 65 in the right lane. It makes little difference in the time of a local trip, and I don't find driving fast on the highway to be particularly fun, it just wastes money. Back roads are more entertaining.

I'm somewhat amused by how many people spend $25K on a new car to save money on gas, and then routinely drive 80-85 in them.

Really good mileage! Does that Vette have cylinder deactivation? I just checked the Challenger yesterday, and it got 29 mpg with 50/50 stop & go/interstate. That's using 89 octane and Lucas fuel treatment at 3 oz per 10 gas as recommended. This is the perfect weather for good mileage around here now.

Lately I've seen a few Smart car drivers and Prius drivers around here that were driving like maniacs, and I'm wondering why get cars like this if you're going to drive them hard? I bet you end up getting worse MPG driving a car like that at 100% throttle compared to a more powerful car that you only need to drive at 50% throttle.

Nope, they just introduced cylinder deactivation on the 2014 Corvette for the first time. The LS2 in my 2005 is probably the most fuel efficient Corvette engine ever offered though. In fact I don't think the new LT1 in the 2014s is going to be as efficient, even with cylinder deactivation. At least not according to the MPG numbers they are throwing around so far it doesn't look to be more efficient than the LS2.

I think the speed limit all over Ontario is 100KPH, or 62 MPH. Ours here is 70, but I go 65 anyway. There is a big gas mileage difference between 60 and 70 mph. I think it was Virginia's way of raising fuel taxes w/o actually doing so.

2013 Sorento that's in my sig, so far over 4k total miles my average is about 18.5mpg.

That said my daily commute is 7 miles each way and almost all city driving / side roads.

Previous experience owning an '11 Sportage showed me that kia engines seem to take a while to break in though. My mileage steadily improved over the course of about 15k miles with that vehicle.

I have seen as high as 22mpg during extended highway runs. I'll be taking a 2000-2500 mile road trip starting next week and am curious to see how it does mileage wise.

Also I got my Sorento at the end of January. So cold winter weather + snow is not a recipe for good mileage in an AWD car.

Since Aug 2012 with a 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S 6 speed, been getting an average of 24.3mpg. 80% dense urban city, mostly 2-4 mile trips, winter, and plenty 8k+ redlines.

Since last Sept, my driving habits have changed. Most of my driving is 3.5 mile trip to and from work, 6 stoplights and never over 45 MPH. If all I do is that, I am getting 19-20 MPG. If I take the Tacoma to see Mom, it gets 25+ doing interstate trip of 350 miles.

5spd Focus Wagon
Here's my fuelly.com page for my Focus. So far I'm averaging 33 mpg, which is OK. I think with a normal week or two of just commuting on my 55mph roads, I can get near 40mpg, as it gets around 50mpg in a steady state cruise at 55mph. But any amount of city or stop and go mileage, seems to sabatoge the tank, much more than the Neon.
