Guys,
My mom-in-law is thinking of getting a portable dvd player with a car adapter. (this will be a X mas present for a kid). I'm a hi-end/hi-fi freak (home) but, my knowledge about "portable" dvd players isn't very big, as I've never used such a thing.

what would be a dependable portabel dvd brand that comes with a car adapter (cig lighter adapter) that's a not too expensive?

I like out Toshiba TV a LOT, but I haven't heard anything special about their dvd players (of which they have several models around $200-250 some how)...

Let me hear what you guys think, especially you who own a portable dvd plalyer...

Thanks in advance.

Not sure which one's are the best - but I can tell you to avoid the Polaroid brand. Yes the camera maker makes DVD players and they should of stuck with just cameras. I bought it at Best Buy last year. The battery stopped taking a charge after 5 months (out of warranty of course) and the whole thing stopped working now. Even plugged in it'll just start up for a second than shut down. Also has cheap feel all over it. Guess I got what I paid for! Luckily my new Denali has a factory one built in...and with the longer warranty. It has been great and it is a Panasonic - yep factory GM option made by Panasonic.
