Poll: Which of these 2 oils should I use next OCI?

I`ll be doing an oil change in March and I have two oils in my small stash to choose from. Besides basically tossing a coin,I thought I`d ask my fellow BITOG`ers. Which of these two oils should be my next oci?

Valvoline VR1 20W50
Royal Purple 20W50

I don`t particularly favor either one,just was wondering how y`all would vote.

Any reason for using 20w50 oil in that 300ZX ?

If it was my ZX, I would pick the Valvoline, its less expensive.

"HERE" on this site only. Elsewhere it is very popular.

To the OP - you have both so use whatever one you want to. Eventually you will use both right?

I`ll definitely use both until they`re all gone. I`m just here at the house sick as a dog (everyone at work passed a really bad cold around) and I was looking at my case of RP and VR1,bored,wondering which one I`ll go with next.

How long do you run your oil? How hard do you drive your car? Short trips, long trips? Trips to the dragstrip?

Since you don't have to buy it-RP! If you had to buy it, Amsoil! Whoops, I meant Valvoline! Dang, it's starting to rub off on me!!

I`m one of the old-schooler types (3/3k). I just absolutely LOVE my Z,took me forever to find it (had only 30k when I bought it) and I`m really OCI about maintaining it. I got the RP at dealer cost,so I essentially got it at dino prices.

I do alot of short trips every day. I live really close to work. If I didn`t have to wear a suit/tie to work,I`d probably bike to work and back. But I also drive it like I stole it everywhere I go,the way a sportscar`s meant to be driven

Wow. this one's obvious. Do like any true BITOG'er and keep both of these in your stash. Go out and try a new oil.

Aren't you using the RP in it right now? If so continue to use it until gone then switch if you want to use the VVL. Although I know it is not really super harmful I am not a big fan of continually swapping oils. I prefer to pick an oil and stick with it.

Thanks Hemi! My gf just got home with some stuff for me.......Zicam Cold Remedy and Alka Seltzer Cold Formula. I`m gonna O.D. on this stuff so I can get rid of this stupid cold. If I didn`t feel so bad,I would`ve gone with her so I could`ve done my obligatory tour down the store`s oil aisle

Anyhoo,RP it`ll be! Yeah,I used it on my last oci,then did VR1 on my present (ya,I get bored with the same oil on every oci). Out of all the different oils I`ve tried,VR1 and RP definitely gave my car the smoothest wot response.
