I don't see Lucus fluids recommended much, can't even remember seeing it ever recommended on this site. I'll narrow it down to synthetic gear oil.

Is it good stuff? Just ok? Or all marketing hype and crummy oil?

I'm a big fan of Mobil 1 oils in my engines so I also follow them to the gear oil realm as well. I do have a few quarts of Lucus 75-90 I will use in front locker of my wifes Armada next time it's due. BUT it's not giving me a level of comfort. And I'm a little nutty. That OCI will only be about 30k miles so I'll sleep ok!

I don't know about their gear oil. Most of the negative feeling about Lucas comes from their oil additive snot. There have been a few engine UOA that showed Lucas synthetic engine oil being as good as or better than other oils for that particular application. Amsoil tested different gear oils and I think Lucas came out on the bottom.

That is my feeling exactly. They may make great oils, but I find it hard to trust a company that makes a goo which DECREASES the effectiveness and INCREASES the foaming of lubricants that you add it to.

Sure is true!! That display makes you want to turn the crank!!

Lucas transmission additive is great for getting a few more miles from an almost dead transmission. I wouldn't recommend using it where the transmission is in good shape. I have used that several times, even to help my Grandmother, and her notoriously bad Chrysler T&C transmission. She was able to keep driving about 7,000 miles [rant]before she decided to get ANOTHER Chrysler T&C van.[/rant]

Lucas PSF additive is great for getting a few more miles from a very noisy old P/S pump, a leaking P/S pump, or a leaking P/S rack or gearbox. However, I wouldn't use it in a perfectly functioning P/S system either.

I have used Lucas air tool oil, and I guess it is all right. I just bought it because I needed air tool oil, and I was in a hurry.
