Please, identify this component on a Gen 2 Mini

I circled the mystery part in red for you to hopefully identify it. I have not pried the cover off to see what's under it.

Looks like a grate. Can’t tell from the photo if it is actually perforated or just lines for design purposes.

Assuming the former, id suspect it’s either a microphone for Bluetooth/voice commands, or a spot where an hvac sensor loves for cabin temperature control.
 
It didn't look perforated to the naked eye, I looked at the uncropped image. The cover may be perforated after all. It looks like there may be a black foam filter obscuring the perforation. So there's probably a microphone under it. I should have looked closer in the first place. Kinda large for a mic cover. Most mic covers in cars that I know are from a pinprick hole to may 0.5 sq-inch.

Spy microphones can be mounted in any orientation, lol.
 
By the way, all the warning beeps (seatbelt, light on, washer fluid, spoiler in manual mode, service due, bulb out, etc), and chimes sounds all come from the door speakers.
