Plasti Dip, anyone use this stuff?

A while back when i had my rear bumper repainted, i opted to remove the emblems and sprayed this stuff on there. It came out on. Best part is I went for a different look later and everything peeled off nicely.

I want to try it on other parts, i have a factory chrome grill and wanted it in black. It had this texture look but i guess the postitive to this is, if i dont like it i should be able to peel everything away. Has anyone gotten a smooth finish? This is pretty much spray rubber so i think sanding it should remove it.

Should i just opt to pay someone to use real auto paint?

How much does it cost to get another grille? If you don't like the results, pitch it.

I always wanted to goof around with it, but I've never bothered.

There's a guy who parks a modified Saturn Sky where I work and every now and then it's a different color, I presume it's Plasti-Dipped. It looks pretty great when you do it right and lets you experiment with colors you may not have otherwise.

Why pitch it? The main purpose of this stuff is that it can be peeled off.

Pitch it if it doesn't come off like it's supposed to, or otherwise mars the surface after it does come off.

I have it on my B-pillars on my Birds, Holding up well here. It has a fine sandpaper feel to it.

I did a test piece and it peeled off nicely. Little to no effort once you find an entry point.



I guess i went too strong of a layer. Little bubbles formed, not horrible but i'll see how i feel after a week.

painted my maxima rims with plasti dip. About to do the kia rims with it.

Holding up great - It feels kinda flat... if you know what I mean.
