New paint care

Many and most manufacturers will do full chemical and adhesion test from 14to21 days as it has reached full cure. Being in the coating industry we always went 14 minimum some 2k products were done at 7 days.

Some coatings were done under 24 hrs they were forced dried 2k Urethane or a UV coating but were tested generally for wrapping and boxing for shipping you had the issue of out gassing such as kitchen cabinets or furniture.

I keep checking the car frequently just to see if that happens and so far so good. I took the Corvette to my girlfriend’s house yesterday and this morning it was covered in tree sap so I’m glad that I didn’t take the Civic. I will probably bring the Corvette there this weekend as well. Her driveway is a huge danger zone for contamination 🫣

Maybe consider:

Getting a new girlfriend, or

Cutting down the sap producing trees near her driveway, or

Use Uber or Lyft when you go to her house. 😎

So I finally had to take my Civic through the car wash, we have had quite a dry spell and then even when it did rain a couple of times it was overnight and it dried off without needing the car wash. But today at Niagara Falls the mist made it all the way into the parking lot and left nasty hard water spots all over the car. Unfortunately some of those spots are now etched into the new paint 😥

Did some touch up work on an 06' Camry. Clearcoated with rattle cans. Looks like crap, but better than rust. Researched coatings/waxes/ceramics/ etc . Said 60 days before you start messing with it. Needs time to cure.
