Springs is a far more desirable area to live, but housing cost is high. If you can afford it, the further north you live the better (including Monument). I've never met anyone from Pueblo that has anything good to say about it.
There are lots and lots of Florida plates here, you won't be alone. tbm5690 is correct. Also, if you go northeast out of the Springs on US 24 you'll find some more reasonable housing prices.
We were seriously considering Fort Collins and spent a week there last fall and liked Loveland better. Then @wwillson encountered a week of -15 weather over Christmas while visiting family there and we said nope not happening. And cars rust there.

South Park seems like a decent town. Ample parking day and night.
IF i was more into snow sports, i could see my self wanting to move there but the high cost of living is what made me turn away some job offers out that way.
