What is the best way to quite down piston slap in a ford motor. I have a 2000 focus with 72,000 miles on it. I have been using Mobil 1 5w30. Would BG MOA help at all.

It only happens during start up and last for a couple min
RedLine oil seemed to work in the past for some on here.
try the motorcraft blended oils....
I have used motorcraft blended oils still does it
there's always Red Line, on line at Jegg's and other places, too.
Have you tried and does it have the same effect with the MC 5w20? It seems Ford is using that with every oil change at the dealer for cars like yours.
So you think if i put 5-2 instead of 5-30 that may help
Don't worry about it. Just drive gently until it goes away. I dont believe there is any oil that will make a significant difference with cold start up piston slap.
Try Pennzoil 10w30 or 10w40 conventional...it reduces it in some engines.
Are you sure it is piston slap? Or is somebody trying to sell you bg moa
Its pistion slap i work for a dealership and they told me that it would help quite it down. i get it here for free.
Try Redline 5w-20 or Amsoil 0w-20. I've never heard of a DOHC engine having piston slap issues, are you sure it's not the chain tensioners (if your engine has chains)...

It is caused by short skirt pistons that are not precisely matched to cylinder bore size.

I know what piston slap is, it mostly happens in pushrod engines, haven't heard of DOHC engines having the same problem although it is possible I guess.
