Pine sap removal

Hey all, I have pine sap on my paint due to pine trees over my driveway. I have cut them down, but need to remove it from my paint. Tried clay without success, maybe clay wasnt aggresive enough...does anyone have any removal ideas that will be easy on the paint?

Diesel or kerosene on a rag...works like a charm.

Pine sap is horrible to remove.

Usually I use alcohol or wd-40 depending on the tar.

You will need to wash afterwards.

hand sanitizer is the easy way.

IIRC wd-40 is more for road tar.

Gasoline/fuels should work as well...

When it freezes, break it off with a piece of plastic.

Silicone spray lube, WD40, mineral spirits or kerosene and a clean rag will wipe pine sap right away.

I've actually made a small chisel out of plastic for this application. It'll remove the bulk of the tough deposits without scratching the paint. Residual deposits can be removed chemically, such as mineral spirits or alcohol.

Avoid silicone lube on your paint.

goof off works even better, but can/will mess up your clearcoat.i speak from personal experience(2 pines along side the driveway)

I park under a pine tree often. It saps on the car. I just use 90% rubbing alcohol and it comes right out.

I use 70%, it also works very well. You'll want to reapply wax/lsp to the area afterward.

I hate tree sap on cars! It's mother nature's way of reminding you to keep a good coat of wax on your car!

believe it or not Pine Sol will take it off. I would stay away from hard chemicals when an organic solvent will work.

When I get it on my hands I always use vegetable oil and it works great. Never tried it on a car body though.

Get some "gum", or "tree" turpentine, not mineral.

Being extracted from species of pines, it's really good at sap.

I've used all kinds of stuff. Rubbing alcohol, WD-40, and peanut butter work great.
