That is one of the four Coke drums, for one of the huge oil sands extraction plants being built here.
The process leaves coke residue, and when the drum is full it is drilled out with high pressure water, into trucks below.
Hard to get a feel for the scale, the drums will sit in this frame, which is over 100 feet high, and that crane will lift them in. It is....well, much taller!

There's a thread going around about how the space shuttle tanks had to fit through railway tunnels.
Supposedly an axle for a two-horse buggy is 6 feet 3 inches and change wide (someone will correct me) which is what they used when they standardized rail width in the 1830s, because the axle tooling is all in place... the space shuttle rocket booster size is a compromise so it could fit through a tunnel... so our trip to outer space is dependent on the width of a horse's behind.
