I just read through that thread. From the sounds of it,about 90% of that forum needs a Midol.

NO..They do not need Midol..If I were to go over to the Civic forum and say I traded in my 00 Civic for a late model P71 Police Interceptor,Town Car or Grand Marquis [and posted pictures of it] I am sure it would not go over well.

Actually there were some positive comments about his decision.

I am glad he is happy with the Civic so far.

Well, I can see why they posted from their standpoint, and granted I'd wouldn't have posted that (would be like me posting that on my J forum), but in the end, it doesn't matter anyways. It is what makes you happy.

Granted, there is some entertaining reading in that thread..

Yes I am..I see you found me over there..The bulk of the people over there are nice just like the people over here.

For $190 per month for a brand new Civic you must have been laughing when you drove away from the Honda dealership.

Nope,I didn't find you over there. Between your user name here and your defensive response,I just put two and two together.

He must of had a pistol in his pocket ( or a wad of money ) to get the CIVIC at that price

He is leasing.

Hi dwcopple,

I've been reading, with interest, your posts regarding the fact you purchased a Honda Civic DX-VP. At about the same time this past Saturday, I also purchased this same vehicle. Your post regarding the dilemma with the console is the reason why. If you could post some pictures and fill me in on how you resolved this issue, I would really be grateful. Thanks for any and all help.

For some reason the pics make it look really bad. It doesn't. It looks factory and matches the wheel and shift knob very nicely. The hinge isn't rusty either. Weird what the flash does.

Out of a Chrysler Sebring coupe like this

took me an hour of looking in cars at the junkyard. I wanted one without a clasp front and it needed a rear, flat hinge. This is perfect. The LX and higher models use a different insert and an armrest and hinge pin, about $85 or so in parts. I got this for free (know the junkyard owner) and it took me ten minutes to clean it, condition it, and intall it. I think the two screw holes will be fine come lease turn-in. I can plug 'em if needed.

Wow....I will be haunting the local junk yard this weekend. You've definitely awakened my sense of creativity with this. I can't wait to get mine looking like you did. Thank you for sharing.

I post there sometimes. Those guys can be a trip. They have a bunch of guys that seem to be settled in with their own tight group. Though they're good when you need technical advice.

I prefer grandmarq.net for panther info.

What is the VP part of the Civic DX?

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I don't see it on Honda's website.

I do not ever recall here [or even on the Panther board] that the Crown Vic gets as good mileage as the Civic..Whip you must be dreaming this or making things up as you go along.

Some of the Civic people here said their cars get up to 40 MPG out on the road which I think is great..The most I ever got out on the road was 27 MPG and that was the a/c on all the time..I am very happy with that.

WHIP please give me one name of one person who said the Crown Vic gets better mileage then a Honda Civic.
