Comparing one person's driving conditions to another with two different cars can be tricky though. If you compare the gas mileage I get in my Corvette compared to the gas mileage my ex wife got out of her Civic, they weren't that far apart. I drove pretty gently and did a good portion of highway driving in my commute and would get 20-21 MPG in my Vette. She drove with a heavy foot and did a lot of heavy braking in her Civic and did all short trips and city driving, and would usually average around 22-23 MPG. If I drove the Civic for an entire tankful I could easily get close to 30MPG in city driving and almost 40 on a pure highway trip. (best MPG ever for the Corvette was 31 on a pure highway run)
 
first tank is gone and I got 314 miles on it. Put in 9 gallons and will see what I get on this tank. Assuming I used around 12 gallons that puts first tank numbers over 26mpg. No highway and never went over 65 mph.

That is a bit different then saying alot of Panther guys over there and here say the C.V. gets better mileage then the Civic.

I am glad you enjoyed cvn..Who knows I might see you over there some day in the newbie lounge showing off your P71..I always knew deep down you were a good person.

By "first tank" do you mean the tank from the dealership? If so, it may not have been totally full so who knows what mileage you really got.

I never said a lot. Re-read what I said.

For the record, I own a Continental. Same enigine that's in the Vic. I also own a Sentra. The Sentra wins on fuel economy everyday.

Maybe I'll stop by CVN, and talk about my Lincoln someday.

Impressive for a city biased result.
Right now the Civic gets about the same mileage as my Saturn if not even slightly worse, but its the first tank and I have done a little more city driving than usual. Hoping to get some pretty stellar MPG out of this car. I have only taken it to redline once in a week, and only in 2nd gear so it wasn't long.
 
5800 miles on it now and oil life is at 30%!!! Never had a tank get me less than 30MPG so far. That long highway round trip to Detroit Metro and back got me almost 40 per!!! Dang this car needs cruise control though...ugh

I use the cruise in my Civic every day.. So I'd agree with you it needs cruise! Also my car has gotten incredible on fuel. Can get like 430-450 miles on a tank and there is still a bit left (not according to gauge though)

Mine is the same way, I'm loving this car so much!

On my last tank full I went 714 km and still had enough gas that I could have easily gone over 800! I got 37.9 MPG that tank, and it was still a good amount of city driving too. The other day I did a 20km run on the highway with the cruise at 100km/h and my Scanguage showed me 50 MPG for that trip! One Sunday morning I'm gonna get up early (when not many people are on the roads) and head out on a highway trip and set the cruise at 80km/h for a while and see what kind of MPG I get. I bet it will be over 60.

BTW, when my fuel gauge hits the last dot, my Scanguage shows that I still have about a gallon and a half left.
 
its rare to see a dx/vp around here. first time i saw one i was like...hmm wonder where this guy bought it. (noticed it was one because of the unpainted mirrors and door handles.)
 
1st warranty repair needed. Trunk lock stopped opening with the key. Took it in. Reassembled the tumblers in the cylinder. Took 'em ten minutes. Tried [censored] hard to sell me an oil change even though the 15% oil life message was on. I said, "i don't need one, i've got 15% left. I'll change it at 0%. It's a lease." They just smirked and said bring it around...LOL

Not too bad.
I haven't had my car back for any reason at all.
I wouldn't have the problem yours had though, my trunk doesn't even have the key-hole. (power only)
I do use the manual release lever beside the drivers seat frequently though to keep all that mechanical stuff free.
 
Did the first oil change today. 7063 miles. OLM showed 10% but it was a nice day outside today and I had a bit of free time without the wife and kids so I figured now would be a good time. I put in 4 qts of Citgo Semi-Syn 5w20 that I got for about $1 a qt at ACO with a MIR. I used a Purolator classic L14610 for the filter that I got at Advance when I used a code for some other stuff. I know this oil change cost less than $8!!!

Oil was dark but not black. Filter was on super tight and needed some finesse to budge with filter pliers. I just hand tightened the Purolator as much as I could. It has never failed me in the past.
