Are you sure about that? I've got a feeling that you're reading the location of the original dealer the car was built for. The only facility that Honda has in the state of Michigan is their Emissions Lab, which is in Ann Arbor.
The final assembly plant should be one of these three...

Are you sure about that? I've got a feeling that you're reading the location of the original dealer the car was built for. The only facility that Honda has in the state of Michigan is their Emissions Lab, which is in Ann Arbor.

OP: congratulations on your new car. It looks like a nice efficient ride. Had you already test-drove a Civic before you signed on this one? From your story, it sounds like you signed the bottom line, almost sight-unseen.

I'm picking up my LX today. I have an 05 VP with 210000 trouble free miles on it that I bought right at the end of that generation. I'm keeping that one as a "beater" and winter car. The discounts available right at the end of the design generation are fantastic. I see 09's with 30k miles advertised for thousands more than I'm paying for a new one with 0.9% financing.

Did you get any incentive other then the 0.9% finance? Did they come down of the sticker price? Their website only shows the 0.9% finance incentive for buying.

Doc fees were $125, no other nonsense fees. This is the first time I've ever gotten more than 20% off MSRP. With the 0.9%, its an incredible deal. Two dealers were willing to do this price, most others were coming in about $16500

It helps when you don't necessarily NEED to buy. My 05 with 210k miles is still doing fine, but when miles are that high it's time to at least think about a replacement. My thought process was I'm either going to get an extremely good deal or I'm not buying now. Now I can keep some miles and winter driving off of the new one and continue to put "cheap" miles on the 05 for a few more years, hopefully.

Almost 50 miles to work each way. Yeah I know, its wasteful and expensive - due to family considerations there isn't really any other option right now.
