Well that left us with 35k financed and put the wife at a comfortable monthly payment. After we sell the civic to her dad we will be around 6K out of pocket. Totally agree with putting money away and we have been putting a lot away lately

Beautiful and plenty presence. I really like the color as its out of the box, especially for the ST's i see around here. Wishing you many years of safe, reliable, enjoyable transport.
These Fords are generally quite reliable.
If I were in the market, they'd be on my short list.

I like the explorer. We just got a 23 limited. I hate the transmission though. Hopefully it's better in the ST
Over all the Acura fit and finish is better, it really is. Even simple stuff like a mold line in the plastic or and A pillar trim that’s raw in the explorer but covered in fabric on the Acura makes a big difference. The one thing that really I don’t like with the Ford is that the under hood area is not painted body color. It’s a light grey primer. It’s moves well for a large suv, so does the Acura. Wife loves the heated steering wheel and other nice options. Over all it’s not a bad driving experience.
What don’t you like about it?
It shifts up too quickly and leaves the engine lugging. I'm always having to give it gas to downshift. I guess I'm just too used to driving a manual everyday and on weekends I drive the wife's explorer. I am having difficulty getting used to it. I like it best in tow mode. It's not so quick to upshift
I had an ‘18 F150, so it was a related drivetrain.
I think I know what you are talking about. The gas pedal pretty much communicates a torque command from the driveline, and the engine and transmission figure it all out from their data tables. You don’t really get to “drive the car” any more. Otoh, it’s why shifts seem seamless without changing the “pull” as the next gear engages at a different engine rpm. After I got used to it, I just modulated the throttle to tell it what I wanted out of it. The ecoboost can be both limo-smooth and eager to play, or at least it was for me.
I don't know but I could live without it. Now the 6R100. That's a transmission!
What mods do you have planned?
My raptor and wife's turbo maverick shifts are very delayed ,when driven in sport mode.

Is the third row fairly usable by an adult. I ask because I have a relative that's wants to replace their 21 traverse that has a pretty roomy third row. The two second row captains chairs have adjustability to increase third row leg room. They don't like the looks of the new traverse so I suggested they look at an Explorer. It would be nice if it's as roomy.
