Petrol Canada Syntetic oil

Yesterday I made oil and filter chanche after 5000 km as ususal to my kia spectra 2006,I used to go to Kia dealer for the maintenance but I decided to change, I wasn't too happy with them.

For the first time I put full systetic oil, I choose pertrol canada 5-30W with puralator oil filter and I noticed that the car goes Great.

Seems enother car the engine become mach more silent.

I was quite worried to put full sistetic becouse I read that the engines can become more noisy, but I had the opposite effect.

I don't know to much about petrol canada sysntetic oil becouse is not so popular as mobil 1 and others but at moment seems very good, I was willing to use Mobil 1 But I read many complain about the engine noise so at the end I choose a less known oil and cheaper.

Does anyone has experiences with petrol canada systetic oil ?

It's probably one of the best group III synthetics you can buy...has the best cold-weather specs of almost ANY oil, period.

That's good seems that I did a good choice I think that I will stick with it.

I have to see how the engine will go later on,I'm willing to prolong the oil changes to 10.000 km too. I think that is ok for a good full syntetic oil.

Can I ask you where I can find the meaning of different groups in the oils ?

Can I ask you, where did you buy the Petro Canada synthetic oil? I have only seen it at the gas stations, and its very expensive there. Also, where did you get the Purolator filter?

You should have NO PROBLEM running that oil for 10,000 KM or even 15,000 KM in my opinion.

I used this motor oil this winter, the Duron E 0w-40. It was -45 C in Ft. Macmurray unaided starts in 07 Hummer H-2. Great oil , could be had at a bulk station for $6.25/litre. Funny no PAO oil could beat a type III for pour point. The Duron E pours at -66 C thats -86 F !

I went to Oil Changers they have it and they use purolator oil filter but they put me the premium not the PureOne type.

I don't know if they have the PureOne with an extra cost, the basic systetic package is petrol canada syntetic oil + purolator filter premium type.

They did good job I liked them, you can see what they do and this is very important, I think.

I do mine myself, of course. Good synthetic oil can be had for 20 or 30 bucks. Good conventional oil can be had for 10 to 20 bucks. Plus filter, plus good ol' TLC time with my car.

I often stock up on what ever oil I see on sale or for a good deal. When I go down to Buffalo, I usually grab a bunch of oil and filters and load it in to my trunk. Keep my eye on the Canadian Tire weekly flyer. That kind of thing. This way I always have oil and filters in stock for all of my family's cars

I understand but I have one car and I change the oil every 10-12 months now.

Consider yourself lucky @$70! Aussie $135 (US$124.50) for 6.6 Litre's of AMSOIL Series 3000 HDEO 5w30. M1 is over Aussie $90 for 5 Litre's.

Interesting that they had to make a special 5w30 turbo version specifically for the Honda turbo. The regular 5w30 does not meet HTO-06

Mephy. I got the oil changed in my daughters 04 Cavalier
with Petro Canada 5w30 synthetic. It was free for me since
I use the Petro card and had enough for 5 liters. Check
any Petro Canada fuel outlet in the Toronto area. It would
be way cheaper than any store or garage.

I'm using 5w30 P-C Synthetic in the Miata and 5w30 Maximum in the Sentra. Both are very good oils. The Miata is quiet on start up (one of the main reasons I tried the P-C was for its cold flow specs) and it seems to rev a bit more freely, however that is just using the "butt dyno" and is therefore worthless. I think it's an excellent oil. I'll run it all year in the Miata, do a used oil analysis on it in November and post the results. My only problem is that it is a bit expensive, even when using Oilchangers to do the job. It is well over $100.00 per case here in the Ottawa area, and about $11.00 per litre if I buy it at the local P-C gas station.
BTW, I like their gasoline too. One of the three Top Tier suppliers available to me and both my cars run very well on it. FWIW, I fully recommend their products.

Go to one of P-C's bulk fuel distributors. The price of their motor oils is considerably cheaper (probably in the $6-7 liter range for synthetic) than at their gas stations. You can look up the location of the bulk dealers at P-C's site.

Duron 0w30 is $6.16 a litre in a flat of 12, and Arctic 0w30 is $4.90 a litre in a flat of 12.

I need to call and get a price on the new Turbo 5w30, and get a more detailed spec sheet with pour point, etc.
