Is the Petro-Canada Supreme 5w-30 better or worse then the Castrol GTX 5w30. I was also maybe considering useing the Petro-Can synthitic 5w-30 or Castrol Syntec 5w-30. Does anyone know if this Petro-Canada oil is any good??

P-C is good oil. Use the 0W30 or the 5W30 if you feel better with that. My first choice would be the 0W.

I think I am going to go and buy some PC 0w30 tomorow for a winter oil change. I have some mobil 1 5w30 I was going to put in. I also have some Castrol 10w30 that bought on sale. Might use it next summer. I am hopeing I can blend it with some 5-30 and it should be fine for my Hemi.

How about Tech2000 0w30?

I was thinking the same thing! It's very possible that Tech 2000 0w30 is made by Petro Canada. It's a pretty good deal, I believe it's just under $23 for a 4.4L jug.

I have heard that Petro-Canada makes a lot of the new GM syn lubes.......does anyone know if that's true?

I switched from Mobil 1 to the Petrocan 5/30 synthetic. The PC is a little cheaper than the Mobil if bought at bulk plants.

I've been using the Duron oil in several motorcycles as this oil is jaso ma rated and has very good numbers.

I have heard there is a connection between Castrol and Petrocan but I've been unable to substantiate it.

Petrocan is upfront about publishing their numbers whereas Castrol is not.

PC oils are available in the states apparently.

I have been on this site now for about 2 months. I am currently running M1 5w20 in my 06 Accord 2.4L. for the Winter. I learned so much from this site. This summer I am going to go back to a Dino. It is either going to be Castrol GTX or Petro-Can 5w20. Then next winter I am going to try Amsoil. My question is without worrying about price what which one would you choose for my Accord Next summer.

That is a hard question to answer, because we haven't seen any UOAs on Petro Can 5w20 on here, and I don't think we've seen any with GTX 5w20 either! I think no matter which one you choose, that 4 cylinder Accord engine is going to last forever anyhow, it's one durable motor!
