PENTIUS UPDATE..... XL Extended Life Filters

Not bashing Pentius too hard here, but don't they use Chinese or Korean contract manufacturing to build these (similar to PG)? Wouldn't they be somewhat at the mercy of whatever their manufacturer used? (I'm sure they're fine, but true, exact efficiency numbers seem unobtainable).
Even if they utilized contract manufacturers, they likely flow down specifications in terms of what the product should meet. The contract manufacturer should then source raw materials that meet those specs

If I understand the Pentius website correctly when GM dissolved Deawoo they retained some suppliers and facilities in South Korea. Pentius was a partnership to maintain a North American presence for distribution of parts and filters.

My plan is to do a detailed comparison between Pentius and PG soon due to similarities. I have several emails out to both companies.
Yes, please let us know once you do the detailed analysis and C&P on the Pentius filters: PLXL and PLB also (if possible).
Between all my 4 vehicles, the annual mileage of each is: 34k, 20k, 20k, 10k miles a year due to various long commutis by family members.

So, I do about 17 oil changes a year. It is nice to choose a high efficiency low cost filter without the leak defect as my strategic filter.

I like the 12 packs on Amazon of the Pentius filters, but am not sure if they are good filters as I've never used that brand before.
The Pentius PLB filter has some bad reviews on Amazon. Not sure if they are safe to use without worrying about engine damage.

The PLXL ("UFXL" = Ultra Flow Extended Llife) filters look just like the Carquest Premium and Microgard Select. I'd use them without hesitation. Go look for a 12-pack deal on Amazon in the model you need would be my advice.

Zee posted the link to my new comparison thread. I’ll be updating it as I go.

For me, Amazon 6 packs were the only bulk option I could see, and they're all 3rd party sellers. I generally try to avoid with car parts. But, on Walmart.com, Premium Guard sells the 6 packs direct.
