Pentius PLXL 7317 C&P 5k miles

Max Life ATF jacked up my old Nissan Sentra F04 transmission. It never shifted right again. Shift flare, late upshifts out of low gears when cold, stuff like that.
Had it been changed before? Sounds like it dislodged something that any fluid change would have induced if it was a high mileage transmission that had never been service.

Nope. It was relatively low mileage. Can't remember exactly, but maybe 40k miles?

It seems quite clear to me that the friction characteristics of Max Life is a fair bit different from Nissan Matic-D that is used at the factory.

Whip city has a cut open of a Pentius today and a few days ago did a light test on two filters, an Amsoil and a Fram. Both Amsoil and Fram made failed the light test.
The Pentius seems to be a winner as far as looks goes. The TG is interesting as it shows how they used to make the fiber end caps to center the element and adbv. It’s an old TG from 2022.
When I cut a Pentius PLXL4967 it took longer to get through the can. First time I have thought why did they make this can so thick?

Looks good -- thanks for the C&P. I just got a case for my Hondas. I used to like the Fram Ultra and Wix until they started going down in quality.
I received my filters today and Amazon sent me the cheaper PLB7317 instead of the PLXL7317... now I have to hassle with returning them. They offered me a $12 "partial refund" to keep 'em. No thanks. Buyer beware if ordering from Amazon.

My replacement order also got lost in transit. 0 for 2 so far. They won’t let me exchange it again until the end of the week.

The exact same thing happened to me. In my case, I bought from the Amazon Warehouse, thinking I could save a few bucks more. Returned those, and reordered, from regular stock, and received the proper filters the second time.

Did you get the right ones? I was finally able to re-order them yesterday and they're supposed to be here by the end of the week, if they don't get lost again...
Luckily Amazon got it right and sent the correct filters. I was struck by the heft of these filters. They are noticeably heavier and at least feel very well made.

3rd time was the charm for me. First ones were wrong, second ones were lost, but the 3rd set was correct. Dunno what's going on with Amazon's logistics lately but this kind of thing has been happening to me a lot lately.
