I thought about that when I posted and realized that if there was a butt dino difference, it might be worth knowing. And there was some speculation that German 0w30 is synthetic in the German sense. So again it might be worth knowing.

I don't know if that's even possible. Being the recommended oil and mentioned by name for so many performance engine builders and European oem's its pretty tough to beat.
I've got a fellow member sending me jugs of it that he's buying in America.
I'll be using it after I try Belgian castrol on this next interval. I've got 2000 miles to go before I'm due for a change.
I'll be paying special attention to every little thing using both oils.

How you mean is it possible? Pennzoil is actually Shell Helix Ultra, which many would argue is much better then M1.
On paper, it looks better too!

On paper royal purple looks like valvoline and after seeing many engines at the track using RP,with synerlec,I can say without a doubt they're only similar on paper.
What paper may I ask. A voa misses everything organic so can one even use that data to compare.
Due to the limited info that can be gleaned by looking at "paper" maybe looking at the engines that use it can help one inform themselves.
Didn't Nissan ask for it by name in they're bad boy sportscar.
Wasn't it the oil for the SRT engines until they got a special oil.

What about Ferrari?
Your "arguments" make no sense.
Did you see my UOA on M1 and TBN retention after 5K?

I didn't know that individual countries had antonyms. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Reigniting an old thread. in Aus Repco have the Shell Helix 5w\40 for $29.99 for 5 litres. It is the "SN" version though and not the SM version.
