Pennzoil Ultra alternative?

I've considered switching to high mileage....I would love to use maxlife full syn but its nowhere to be found either, so I guess m1 hm would be my next best option? Any die hard GC fans have any input?

That merely indicates how many automotive simpletons there are out there. 138k is too low and too early a death for autos today. They die early due to excessive abuse by a supposed civilized society.

130,000 is nothing. NO car should be burning oil at that mileage.

Nothing? The average car is in the junkyard/recycler at 138,000 miles.

Don't tell my wife that! Her bought new 2005 Explorer has ~134,000 miles and runs and looks great, even in NJ's salt winters. She uses no measurable oil in 8,500+ mile OCI's. It has the 4.6 V-8. Great vehicle, hope it lasts many more miles and years. Overall it's been well maintained, all it's fluids have been changed on a sensible basis.

from what I've seen, yes i would say its pretty rare...but the average person doesnt care for their car like most us

Depending on the situation, I've seen a lot of cars die around 150K or just under in recent years. However, they were ten+ years old and I live in Michigan (salty roads).

Age is a big factor. Most people change fluid based on miles and NOT periods of time. I think both should be considered.

Im just trying to keep it going as long as possible.

What. 130k on a ford is nothing. My 2v never burned any, ever.
Anyways at 5000 mile intervals any oil will do. Gt'x,PYB,gsgb,VWB. Take your pick. Those engines aren't really hard on oil. If you aren't consuming and oil than dont bother going a grade thicker, stick with whatever ford says to use.
Pennzoil Platinum is great oil and also a synthetic oil, just a different type of syn then ultra.
If your running a syn your oil change interval is pretty short. I'd extend it personally to get the most value I could from it because its not like at a 5000 mile interval there will a wear difference between synthetic and conventional.
Unless you track the car or something then I'd use red line 5w-20 exclusively
