Hello I'm new here this is my third post. I was using Royal Purple for the past OCI. I switched to PU and my truck seems to love it!!! Truck feels a lot smother and better acceleration than with RP. Also at stop lights I can't even tell my engine is running idle is super smooth. I think I found my oil!!! BTW I'm using a TOYOta OEM filter Japan made. Truck is a 2003 Tacoma V6. Thanks to those that recommend me PU.

I am glad you like PU. I use it in my Jeep. Not always easy to find however. But Royal Purple is high quality oil also. I am thinking your scientific test is a little subjective. Oil when warmed up is not going to make your truck run smoother. Now if you said I ran it for 8K miles and under my valve cover looks a bit cleaner, that we could believe.

PU also whitens your teeth and freshens your breath!

I bought a gallon of PU last night. Woke up this morning to a SPOTLESS house, the product even renovated my kitchen! Colour me impressed!

You're not fooling me, that statement is FALSE! You can't buy Ultra in gallons.

Lmao

Yeah but he's still getting tartur buildup from that 51% @20u efficiency Toyota OE filter. I would use something with an efficiency of 90%+ @20u to go with that oil.

Pennzoil Ultra is good oil no doubt about it. However it didn't make my engines quieter or accelerate better. As a matter of fact, the only time I've had a significant variation from an oil change was on a Corolla using Valvoline Synpower. For whatever reason, the valvetrain was louder. Didn't bother me though, oil stayed for full OCI. Other than that one instance, the variation in noise levels among oils is so minute that it's not worth noting.

More valvetrain noise with PU? My truck is quieter.

PU has a very good cleaning power. I would use it anytime if you car have any deposit. It is a group 3 synthetic but have a very close capacity of group 4.

i will say i have seen it clean engines and im impressed the problem is it is not cheap and that is the number one reason very few places carry it. overkill even seems to use it on his teeth and wakes up to a spotless house so even he knows that it works great!
Like i said i saw it clean up a couple of engines but who knows maybe most synthetics can do the same for less cash.

It's was cheaper than RP. It's on sale at autozone.

Anyone that is driving a higher mileage or older car (or both), will do just fine with any oil and filter which will be more than adequate with reasonable OCI's(from what I see, there really aren't any "bad" oils out there anymore...excepting the cheap stuff at some gas stations and dollar stores that don't meet any modern specs...and shouldn't be sold). If you've dropped $20-30,000 (or more) on a vehicle and are spending time trying to save a few dollars per year on oil you need some help with your financial common sense skills. There are a lot of good synthetics out there and PU is one of the best...the UOA's here prove it. I use it exclusively in my vehicles now and have stopped looking for something cheaper or better (or both).

I live on the NY/MA border and its in the nearest one in MA, but not in the nearest one NY. And the nearest on in MA is a plain (not a super duper center).

All BIOTG members to converge on MA to get PU.

After running PU for a year I swithched to PYB and I am getting better MPG and car starts immediatley and runs as smooth. Go figure!! How clean do not know as I refuse to look in oil fill hole at the top of the a valve spring. Say I am skeptic but I cannot for the life of me think that is in any way a good test of how clean a engine is.
