hi guys, just wanted to share that pep boys is having a sale up to oct.1 on pennzoil platinum and mobil 1 mi 101.oil filters. just wondering if anybody used these products for OC? as you know i have a 1997 pathfinder and i guess our so called "mechanic" has been putting fram air and oil filter. i was thinking about sticking with mobil 1. and just buy OEM air, oi, and even fuel filter, if there's OEM for my suv.but the sale is so tempting. what do you guys think?

If your Pathfinder is quiet, somewhat-clean & a non-oil user.... I wouldn't change oil brands unless your finances are strapped. If it uses a little oil, Platinum may help.

Filter selections depend on how well that engine looks. Lots of folks here with 300K using basic, $4 oil filters like AC, Motorcraft & Purolator..

My car specs. AC Delco PF-47. I have used M1-101 and Amsoil SDF-29 as well as the Wix equivalent also. It just depends on how good the pricing point is and your oci's. What's the price on M1 filters?

I hear M1 oil filters are good as a Wix anyway.So if you get a price on it go for it. I saw Pure One filters for $4. Don't know if that is still going but any of these are good filters for a Nissan.I have a Nissan truck & a car and use both of those but never tried the M1 filter but I would.
