Pennzoil Question from a 1987 experience

I think Pennzoil was supposedly known to contain a lot of paraffin wax years back that caused them to get a bad reputation for sludge. Other than that pennzoil at least now is producing great oil.
That is what I remember. I also recall the same claims with Quaker State back then as well.

With modern fully synthetic sludge is a thing of the past. I remember running Quaker State in a mustang with a 302 and the oil breather cap would develop some thick waxy like substance.

My view is Penzoil full syn is a great oil and a better value than Mobil 1.

But I';ll bet you wind it out from time to time. I don't recall anybody back in the day winding out a carbuerated straight six in a pickup to 6000-8000 rpms!

Can you imagine if there was a BITOG back in the Pennzoil parrafin era?

And what would be the "it oil" at that time, Exxon SuperFlo?
