Aside from a change in grade, simply going from oil that has been in use for several thousands of miles/months to clean engine oil will be a noticeable difference. The comparison should be from mileage on new oil to same mileage on previous fill on new oil. Not 3k-5k on previous fill to the first 1k on fresh oil.
